Hamilton Dougall Stewart Ward (has to go somewhere)
Madine Simms

Would you change anything?

pretty good on paper but Yates would be very unlucky to miss out

Maxwell
Gabriel Marv Ballard Iceman Garbutt
Dougall Stewart
CJ Yates
Madine

Simms on the bench with Ward Kai Kai and back up in Lubala Mitchell Husband Turton Thorniley Robson Virtue Williams Apter Sims/Fotofit

Mine is tough on Ward but I would use Simms as an impact sub for now

My starting 11 would be whoever Critch thinks is in form.

Tonight was the best performance of the year with a side full of players who we thought were on the fringe (Bez, Thorniley, MJ).

We have a quality squad full of players who on any day can pick up three points.

The only players who I think are "undroppable" and should be in every 11 are:

Maxwell
Ekpiteta
Yates
Madine
CJ (when fit)
Dougall

Every other spot is up for grabs with each match.

Agree with that. Ward recently has been pushing close to get added to that list, but I just feel we may need more goals from midfield than he can give us.

It's a squad game and players tend to go in and out of form. Ekpiteta excepted. It's not about a best XI. Over the course of a season it changes and players come in and out. Simms gives us something we seriously lacked.

Slow start for Stewart tonight. Will improve with match time but we're not short in that position.

Stewart didn’t have much to do but he looked to have time, was in total control.

He hasn’t played for six months...
The pitch didn't help but he couldn't get hold of the ball first couple of touches then committed a foul or two but, as you say, first game for ages.

I'd go with a 3 4 3 formation when in possession reverting to more of a 5-3-2 when out of possession with Garbutt and Gabriel helping out defensively and Cj dropping back into midfield
GK - Maxwell (still a weak link in my view but no real competition)
Defence - Marvin (most improved player this season), Viking, Ballard
Midfield - Gabriel, Kenny, Stewart (if his reputation is anything to go by), Garbutt
Strikers - CJ, Madine, Yates

Subs most likely to bring on being - Simms, Ward and Kai Kai

Maxwell the weak link, are you taking the piss

No, I'm not. I reckon he is a stone overweight and too short for a modern day goalkeeper. He has done a lot better recently but he was an absolute liability earlier this season when we conceded a load of soft goals. I don't think he is commanding enough in the box on crosses and we always look vulnerable from oppostion set pieces. I think we can do better given where we are aiming to go...

You playing with 10 men?

Our 1st 11?

I don't think we have one. And I don't think NC wants one. it's all meant to be fluid dependant on the opposition.

I couldn't really pick a "best 11" because you would be leaving someone out that deserves a spot.

A stone overweight?....absolute nonsense. I've spoken to him close up and there's no excess there at all.

When all players are fit there are many options so I don't think the team picks itself at all. Nice probems to have though if/when that happens.
