Blackpool v Peterborough United Official Matchnight Thread 23.03.21

Phenomenal work rate that second half to stop Peterborough getting a foothold. Just wanted it more from the whistle. The deflection for the third goal shows that the harder you work the luckier you get.

Just hope that wasn't ANOTHER injury to Embleton. They all looked knackered by the end, apart from Jerry Yates.

Fantastic stuff

Yeah but with games coming fast thought he'd change it with 10 mins left. Didn't matter in the end, just can't afford any more injuries from fatigue.
With who we had on the bench the only sub I would have made was the one he did. Great win. 😃😃😃

Guaranteed to hear "worst we've played all season" from every team we make look ordinary in the run in.

Good win that.

COME ON BLACKPOOL!

Eh? there must have been 20 back passes in the last 25 minutes. 10 balls passed to their players and one thrown in in their half thrown back almost to goalkeeper! WTF

Oh and half a dozen long balls to nowhere 🥺

We are better just going forward passing on the deck

You must be blind if you didn't think we played well in the first half.

Superb win. I was confident at every stage tonight that we'd win.

P.S. I also called a 3-1 win on page 2 of this thread 😉

Gretarson was there and is apparently fit, Antwi could have done 10 mins surely. 😃 Given a couple of the lads a rest given Sat Tues games and a depleted squad.

Anyway, didn't matter but, just really don't want anymore injuries now.

Bet Ferguson stillwhinging at the ref 😂
Great all round performance, not surprising we end up with injuries, these boys run and run and run. Mitchell a revelation up front, Kaikai up front will will help defence out. Jerry what can you say, like he Duracell bunny. And version 39 of the CBs worked

Nice dig, my issue is we have a better right back on the bench. And it always has been.

Gabriel is a more gifted footballer, no doubt. Technically better, too. But Turton does give you that rigidity that Gabriel doesn't, and while not a world beater is useful for us when we want to play it safe and defend flat and has been putting in solid performances as of late. He's part of the reason we've conceded so few goals recently.

Trouble has been balancing that with attacking football but we're getting that right, finally. IMO good to have both options with Turton/Gabriel.
