Teams that will miss out:
MK Dons - too inconsistent, too many teams need to slip up
Accrington - small squad really catching up with them
Doncaster - awful form, very tough games left
Lincoln - fair few tricky away games & in poor form
Gillingham - good form, decent games, running out of matches?

Hull are up for me
Coin toss between Posh & Sunderland for 2nd. I just fancy Sunderland on current form.

Peterborough just missing out and 3rd
Pompey finish 4th. Nice fixtures. New manager bounce
Ipswich to finish 5th. New manager bounce and very favourable fixtures.

So. 6th place between Blackpool, Charlton and Oxford. Who’s got the bottle?

Peterborough playing Donny twice, just as we have to play Sunderland twice. Points to be dropped

Sunderland have games in hand on both Peterborough and Hull. They also have to PLAY both Peterborough and Hull, massive fixtures that will decide who wins the league.

We have 1 game in hand on a lot of teams, that will be our Sunderland fixture, which is also their game in hand on the likes of Peterborough. Absolutely massive game for both clubs then. Our 2nd game in hand that we have on a lot of clubs is against Doncaster, our 2nd to last game of the season - it will certainly be important for us by that stage to get 3 points, but depending on where Doncaster are it might be even more pressurised!

Winning our games in hand is essential really, with how close some teams are to us but having played an extra game or two - it could really put us at arms reach from 'em and secure a play-off spot. A lot of the teams around us have easier run ins, I don't think any fixtures in League One are easy though as everyone takes points off everyone - the final couple weeks in the build up to the seasons conclusion are going to be VERY interesting. Not sure I can handle it!

Echoing some of the posts above, for each team this compares the Points Per Game of played opponents v. remaining opponents.

So the Pool, Portsmouth & Ipswich have a relatively easy run-in.
Peterboro, Sunderland & Charlton's remaining opponents are tougher.

In theory Portsmouth have the best run in, they might also get a bit of a bounce with the new manager, but just look at where we have picked up and dropped points, it's unpredictable!

A lot will depend on injuries and fatigue, as a Doncaster fan we have struggled with injuries for a while now and have not the squad to replace the better players, where as your replacing your injuries pretty much like for like, we have most of our short term injuries back now so will hopefully see a improvement in form, regarding the fixtures hopefully for us Peterborough will either be promoted or safely in the play offs by the time we play them and play a weakened team anyway shame we all can’t be there to enjoy what should be a exorcising final few games

You could argue Wigan away was a favourable fixture but they didn’t win.
For all the ease of their run in, I can’t see Ipswich putting together enough points. Paul Cook will make sure they are a much better team next season, but they have taken 6 points from the last 5 games which is nowhere near good enough for this season when you are in mid table to start with.

I accept Portsmouth have a favourable run in. Good job they left it so late to get rid of Jackett. They have a real chance to put together a good run, but there’s no way I would say they are nailed on for the play offs as I saw someone else post today. I am not sure Cowley can make them steely enough in mentality so quickly, that’s something they have lacked in recent years.

Don't think we have an easy run in at all but Pompey and Ipswich have

Food for thought. However, it's in our hands.

As always, the Easter fixture list can turn things upside down and you have to factor in a few shock results because they will happen.
