Ballard

The way our lucks going he will probably pick up an injury. Good luck to the lad though.

Great experience for him to be honest, getting some minutes in against world class forwards (or singular world class FORWARD in USA's case).

He'll come back raring to go knowing how important our final run-in is. With Gretarsson back now as well we have a proper centre half partnership for this time in bloody ages!

The BBC report suggests he could be a possible starter on Wednesday.
He'll be on the bench at the very least and travelling back Thursday so I suspect he won't start for us on Friday whatever happens? Unfortunately. Swindon won their last two. Another tight game where we could do with Ballard's presence at the back.

Predicted line up

Northern Ireland possible starting lineup:
Peacock-Farrell; McNair, J. Evans, Cathcart; Dallas, Davis, McCann, C. Evans, Kennedy; Magennis, Lafferty

Had a funny feeling that ballard was starting tonight as he was taken off. V. USA on Sunday around the 70min as thought they wanted him to rest abit for the match tonight

Excuse my ignorance but why if he travels back Thursday why wouldn’t he be able to play Friday. He’s not even 20 isn’t he and he might be tired? We’re at the business end of the season the days of fannying around with the team have finished, just play your best team and have done with it!!

How old are you?

Shame he played tonight as he won't be able to play Friday, with no Ekpiteta/Husband it looks like a Turton/Gretarsson partnership.

Hopefully with a good rest we'll see a patched up back-line performance similar to Peterborough, rather than Plymouth!

Selfishly wanted him to be starting on Friday, but pleased Daniel has acquitted himself well on International duty
Well done, kid.

If the player wants to play on Friday, am sure Critch wouldn't say no. However, he'll probably be back this morning and can't imagine he'd want to get on a coach down to Swindon!

If I was Ballard, I’d want to play for my country at every opportunity. Travelling back here today: no problem. Start him tomorrow? Bench would be diplomatic. Start him. He’s a good CB. If he gets tired, he can be subbed.
