Sounds like the Gills will go Gung Ho on Monday

Everything I've read suggests that they will go in to Monday's game with a bit of a 'nothing to lose' attitude. I think they'll know that if they lose that game that 5 points behind us with only 6 games left (and we'll still have 3 games in hand) that would probably be season over.
If they watch the Burton and Crewe games and look at how they attacked us from the start then that might take heart from that although they are a team that are quite leaky at the back which might suit us.

I predict 0-0 then 😂👍

I was surprised to hear their commentator say Swindon normally play a high-press but you could see they were opting to play more defensively and hit us on the counter, which was a terrible decision. If they'd watched the tapes they'd have seen we struggle dealing with a high press sometimes - it looked as thought they were setting up to beat how we played at the START of the season, where if you sat back with everyone behind the ball we couldn't score.

At least with that happening recently then Gillingham may look that playing super defensive doesn't work (or at least didn't work on Friday). I hope they do come out, and come at us. I hope Steve Evans really builds up the game for them as their last play-off hope "if you don't win this lads its over". We come out calm and collected and they come out with the world on their back.

Blackpools biggest home win this year against a tin pot outfit...5-0

Suits us fine. The sides that have caused us most problems are the defensive, well organised ones. I would love us to win this one just to hear their manager ranting.

A team that I've never liked much, remember their fans having a hatred of us for years when we didn't throw the ball back to them after an injury and then we scored. Think it was under Worthington.
Like their manager even less.
Massive game for us, if only we could be there.

It'll be like Burton, they will play to their strengths whilst using every dark art in the book. Given we have the ref who nearly butted an Ipswich player, hopefully we have an official who won't put up with it. Recently we haven't done so well against them but feel if we can start well and control the game we should have more ability to play through/around them. A win would be massive, a point wouldn't be a disaster.

I think any team left to play will be more worried about us than we are of them. Form counts and we would be top of the league from the last 29 games averaging 2 points a game. That's not temporary, that's consistent and the way the team are playing now and the obvious team spirit that is there throughout the squad and management I see no reason why w shouldn't carry on as we have and even improve.

We need to turn draws into wins at home so I hope we can do that for the remainder of the season.

I think Gills will be hard to beat.
Playing defensive and cheating, time wasting, and diving all the time.
Just hope we stuff them.

Probably one of, if not the biggest test this season. On recent form, I’m hopeful of a win. COYP!

I remember when I went round rival forums to raise money for Frank Knight. Most responses were just to completely ignore the post or to be supportive and get on board. The Gills board however, were dead against it and insisted it’s his own fault, nothing to do with them etc.

Mind you I know that’s not representative of all of them. Just sticks in my mind whenever we play against them. I really hope we end their nothing season on Monday.

Brilliant. I hadn’t realised. That ref is quality and won’t be putting up with their shîthouse tactics

In what way are we a team that is quite leaky at the back? We've one of the best defensive records in the division.

I hope they do go Gung Ho. We will beat them comfortably if they do. They probably have to and win, to keep there play off chances alive. I suspect it'll be a combination of having a bit of a go with more than the odd bit of shithousery and try and get as many of our players on yellows as possible.

I think I read that the referee is Drysdale who was in the news recently. Would love to see him send that slug Steve Evans to the stands.

He was a right cnut at their place and was bordering on cheating. Everyone knows it, let's hope the ref is up for it.

Yes, won't be easy. A couple of weeks ago had this as a W but given Gills' form of late I'm thinking a 2-2. They score freely but concede in a similar fashion.
F**k it - 3-2 to the Mighty 🧡

And the fat Bar Steward of a manager will be bouncing up and down the touchline

I fear a sending off could be on the cards for us, I think Kenny in midfield will defo be targeted so coach Critch needs to have the lads well disciplined for this one. Evans will be doing his utmost to knock us off our stride and fooooook up our push for the playoffs. Dont get drawn into a battle with them, winning would be ideal but coming through without a rash of yellow cards or possibly a red would be as good.

I agree Toon, we need to be well drilled for this game. I just hope the ref is up with their gamesmanship.

Am hoping Fat Man Evans will just leave his side totally exposed. Shame CJ isn't playing but we need some of our wide men to make an impact and beat them for pace. One thing is for sure - Jerry will be a marked man and I hope Drysdale takes no nonsense from their defenders.
