How much will the returning players be a positive?

Obviously strength in depth is always a positive, but how much good will having some of the defenders coming back actually be? Madine would obviously be fantastic but when you can only play 4 defenders does it give us more problems than answers?

The way all the players who have come in to cover have responded I can't see that we really have a best eleven.

We could play 3 quality centre backs and push 2 of our wing backs into midfield, players coming back gives us good options.

The main thing is definitely having the ability to change things up.

But for me having a secure back line, with the likes of Ekpiteta, Ballard and Gretarsson all in the squad today is superb. Having Madine back will be a huge boost but having our main choice centre halves back will get us promoted IMO.

Interesting at what points he trusts Ekpiteta and anyone else feel we now have better options than Husband who I think will struggle with a fully fit defence available.

I hope Husband does struggle to get in the side, and that’s not a criticism, it just means our first choice guys are back and ready.
I was critical of him early season, but him and Thorniley have really stepped up when needed, so hats off to them.
In the same vein, I wish Jerry struggled to get in the team!!

At this stage of the season its good to have options. Harder pitches, tiredness, carrying knocks and still Saturday and Tuesday to play every week.

Agree with that. We shouldn't think of those that are coming back from injury as our best players, rather they'll be more than capable replacements for any of those in the current 11 as tiredness plays its part or knocks are suffered in the run in

I'm not sure we will see Madine again if I'm honest. I may be reading too much into it but he just seemed to vanish and now he isn't even mentioned. Is he injured or has there been a fallout?

Pitches may be harder but no longer playing on quagmire. We have a very good passing side and the opponents struggle to cope with it
