Hello,

Well, last season it was virtual pub crawls. This season I'm being a football tourist. There are no new grounds for me in 21/22, so I'm surveying the wider area and finding out what is in these football towns and cities that I've never previously seen because I went straight to the ground (via the pub/s).

Great read as always , Jane. All the more special as we are from Carlisle.
Glad you had the weather on your side for your trip, as Birdoswald ( and many of the tourist points along Hadrian’s Wall can be rather bleak and grim in the rain ).

Keep up the fab work ( both of you ).

Hmm yes I can imagine wading through muddy fields of sheep poo would put a different slant on the experience 😂.

Carlisle itself seemed lovely and I’d have loved to have explored it more given more time.

If me and the kids saw you at the match we’d have said Hello.
From the photo from your seats we weren’t too far away, but the kids insisted sitting on the back row.

Glad you both enjoyed the trip, and theres lots of hidden delights to see and do in the surrounding areas.
Draw Carlisle in the cup and you can explore more of our area.

Were they the particularly vocal kids?

Def up for exploring Carlisle itself next time. The park looked lovely and of course we missed the castle and cathedral too.

We were sat alongside the two louder kids.
They were a different class to mine. I couldn’t help but chuckle when they both chanted ‘She fell over, she fell over’ when a Carlisle player went down.

The future of our support is certainly bright, if nothing else.

Nice read Jane enjoyed that and now want to visit the Vulcan!

Two points though

A) Can’t believe you have never seen sheep poo before - our young Lab thinks they are free choccie raisins!
B) Hadrian’s Wall stretched the Width of the England/Scotland border, if it had been the length they would have stepped 3 feet to the Right or Left to get round it 😜

Enjoyed that, enjoy the Pink Pig next trip 👍

Do it! The Vulcan was stunning. It was just a shame we’re not allowed inside at the moment. The volunteers were so enthusiastic and interesting to listen to.

(a) I’m an urban chick! Only just starting to venture into the country a bit more. They looked interesting but not particularly tasty 🤮.

(b) Good point well made 😁👍.

Almost bursting with excitement about Percy Pig. If that button doesn’t work I’ll be very deflated.
