Reading away

Okay, currently work in Qatar. Contract finishes this week, should be home in Wiltshire with Mrs RT (life-long Seasider) by Monday. I’m a Reading boy born and bred, watched more Mighty games in last 25 years than I’ve seen Reading in nearly 50. Next week will be my moment of crossing the Rubicon - no going back. I plan to don tangerine and watch Reading from the away fans’ end. Can I stay on here please??? 😂
PS: Will be in my season ticket seat on the 23rd …
 
I’ve only been once (in the Holloway years) not a ground I plan to rush back to especially for a midweek game. What a depressing soulless ground.
That being said I would have gone had it been a weekend.
Saving myself for Forest and Sheff Utd, and not forgetting the game against the Lancashire cry-babies for my birthday weekend 👍
 
I remember the night match - it’s always a night match - when the ex villa midfielder got sent off for diving in stupidly , can’t remember his name .

was a wonder goal to put us one up then getting beat 5-1 .

Never seen us win there

I remember Davis scoring the screamer in that game and I think even he was surprised. A great 30 seconds during the game, but a bloody long drive home.

It was. The Lee Hendrie game we only lost 1-0 and were unlucky to do so playing so long with only ten men. Only time I've been to Reading and why I remember it clearly.
 
Tickets bought. Breaking our journey from Hampshire back to Lytham. Staying overnight near the ground

Last time I went to Reading we won 1-0 1980 a Ted McDogal goal if I remember rightly. Exhaust fell off the car on the way back .😅
 
I have been to the Car Leasing Arena once....

Horrible soulless place and it lashed down. Had the Missus with me as we were visiting friends down South and we got soaked; needless to say she was not best pleased.

Oh and we lost of course.
 
Was there a couple of times in the 80’s not quite Brentford. Great days. Owen had just gone down for rape. The chanting was unbelievable 😬
