I'm 86, and starting to feel it. 😟
However I recently bought a new car so still getting about.
Going to Yorkshire on Tuesday, our best friends from France are over for a week or two.
Unfortunately they flew, so we are going to see them at their brothers' in Riccall, near Selby.
Going back to age, I used to see a guy who was older than I but not seen him for some time.
He was in Block L I think. so as I'm in P he may still be around, although he was bad on his feet.
I'm trying to think of his name, but the memory fades. 😯
Apparently he had a 'minder' who sat near.
No, not Minder off TV.🕵️‍♀️

Dennis Waterman is a good guy, used to drink with him for a time, very down to earth

father in law is the same age as you Dav at 86. Hope you've got plenty of years left to enjoy. Especially with BFC on the up. Same thoughts go out to everyone getting on in years.

There are lots of relatively recent theories on longevity much of them to do with diet ie eating less generally, cut out sugar and refined carbs, minimal eating Mediterranean, also recommended are taking a younger lover, the anti diabetes drug metformin and of course exercise.

With the pandemic,etc it’s been a while since I saw a true stalwart but have since the “return”....don’t know his surname but he is “Fred” and I think there are many on here who would know him to talk too over many many years.l believe he lives over in East Lancashire and his family are true BFC...he had some health issues last time I saw him but an absolute lovely man who I hope Is still with us.

I don't fit many of those. eat well, use sugar but not too much.
Had a blood test recently and they have asked me back for another. I think they said something about 'anti-bodies.
Whatever that means. Could have misheard though. 😾
 
Genes innit, everything else is bollocks as far as longevity goes.

I mean falling off a cliff or smoking 120 a day isn't good but you take my point.
 
Dave Pick is an absolute legend and a credit to all octogenarians , really hope i am as "switched on" if/when i reach his age.

Deary me, think I better wish everyone a fond farewell, my time could be up !!!
 
I asked my doctor how I could live to be 90. He said don’t smoke don’t drink eat healthily take plenty of exercise don’t go with women and get 10 hours sleep every night. I said and will I live to be 90, he said possibly not but it will definitely seem like it. The old ones are the best.

Not on about you specifically mate, it was a comment about some of the users of this forums child like behaviour despite seeing (potentially) too many winters! I have no qualms with you Dave!
