The administrators have accepted an offer from an unamed source to buy the name Bury FC and Gigg Lane.

An interesting development bearing in a mind a story in the Bury Times this week about the future of football in the town with Bury AFC.

Bury AFC are in the same division of the NWCFL as AFC Blackpool and currently top. They get very decent crowds for that level too. Last home game was over 1,500.

And they are having to groundshare at Radcliffe.

The NWCFL also has the phoenix club, Macclesfield FC, though they were placed in the Premier Division. And they are getting huge crowds for that level. Think they sold out at their home ground for some games.

Then there is FC Isle of Man, who now play in the NWCFL. But because of restrictions on the island, they've had to play only away games so far. But will finally get a home game soon in Douglas. And they are expecting at least 2,000 I believe.

Not bad when some clubs usually get 50 going.

Will be interesting to see what happens if/when Bury FC start playing again, and what will happen with Bury AFC.

That's bigger gates than a lot of Scottish League teams

There was loads of Macc fans at Squires Gate last Saturday. Mate who went said they were looking for trouble with home fans 🤔

Good luck to them I hope they get back in the league where they belong,it could have been us in that position,I’d love to see torquay in the league again as well
both of those teams were great away games for different reasons

No surprise unfortunately.

When Congleton visited Moss Rose a few weeks ago, there were 3,000 there.

And the game got held up with Congleton and Macc fans fighting. Apparently some were Port Vale fans too. The sight of Robbie Savage running over trying to stop them, was weird.

Also wonder what might happen when Bury come up to play AFC Blackpool. There's no love lost for many from both towns of course.
