Who

The same sort of people who have no sympathy for people drowning trying to reach a country where they feel they could contribute positively to society.

Sorry, but irrespective of anyone’s political sympathies or agenda, such a response is, at best, crass in the extreme where human lives have been lost.

I’d hope that, regardless of where you’d choose to lay the ‘blame’ we should at least show some respect for lives lost, instead of seizing an opportunity to make surely the very cheapest of political capital out of same.

Of course, policies need to be reviewed & actions taken to hopefully better a terrible state of affairs, but using such a tragedy to seek ‘the higher moral ground’ & score political points is truly shameful & beneath contempt.

Horrible. Poor children. What a thing to witness or experience. RIP

These incidents are far less than in other countries but are becoming alarmingly more common.

Well I guess it’s our generation that has raised these kids so what are we doing differently to the generation before us?
What has changed in teaching or parental discipline that this is becoming more the norm?
Sadly this is the world we have created.

It’s a heartbreaking unthinkable tragedy.

As to who is bringing up these children, clueless.

My kids would no more pick up a knife to attack someone as bite their own feet off ☹️

And they haven’t had a privileged life, just a reasonably decent upbringing learning morals, respect and right from wrong.
RIP this poor young girl.

The discipline isn’t there. Leaving it up to individuals. No discipline in schools. Smacking outlawed. Violence and agro everywhere on TV, video games, music glorifying violence. The Police utterly impotent - any control or respect long since gone.
Soft sentences. Cushy prisons. Broken parole boards. Not much deterrent for wrong doers.
Perfect storm. Would take min 4 decades to put right, but things would have to change NOW and there doesn’t seem to be any appetite to change direction.

Sadly only going in the wrong direction, and fast.

There is an appetite but people and any government are afraid to make the necessary changes to bring back discipline, morals, self-respect and common decency. Without violence I may add.

It‘s seen as nasty or harsh.

But it’s what we need to save our society from a complete destruction of morals and integrity.

Nobody is winning with the softly approach and gay abandon of punishing the wrong and rewarding the right. Nobody at all.

Tough love for the right reasons.

Those arrested are 13-15. Doubt they've been in prison or parole boards tbf.

looks like a shocking case on the face of it. I think this will be one we will all remember when we hear more details, and will shock the City. RIP Eva.

Poor kid, whatever the reason for this horrendous murder, once again we see it being due to idiots carrying knives. Someone further up the board suggested that they didn't know what the generation before them did. I'll tell you. We respected other people, particularly our seniors and females, we were rightly punished if we didn't. If it came to a case of fighting, it was with fists, nothing else. There were severe punishments available for law breakers. All this has changed during my lifetime, and on most cases not for the better, as this death proves. My sincere condolences to her family and RIP Eva. So young.

Poor response, but I’m not surprised at your vitriol.
.Can we expect any other kind of response from Cat? I saw this item earlier, people are just going crazy. I have my opinions but this is not the time to voice them. R.I.P. Eva, my sympathies to the family.

Discussion for another thread I think, Chunky.

Never say never 👍
What's the solution Lala?
We've had a couple of generations that have been nothing short of feral.
That's lead to the society we've now got.
It's all about your human rights now, no matter how thuggish you are 😔
They can and do get away with most things they do!!
