PNE away : important information for travelling fans

does this mean I can not wander round the park in the dark after the game like I did as a very naive and lucky (not to get a kicking ) 15 year old

Over the last few years when it's been mentioned about keeping away fans held back after the game it's been said apparently by plod "They can no longer keep fans in the ground after a game as it can be seen as unlawful imprisonment!".
So if it is not unlawful as I would imagine it isn't for safety and prevention of trouble why do the police in Blackpool not keep away supporters in the ground after matches???..
Probably means the Blackpool plod would be late home for their tea.

It’s what a well run club does with its stewards & police at Pne we try to make
it a safe environment for every one even free buss to train station we haven’t had trouble for years.
Ps I believe we are making sure your seating area is clean .
Thanks, that’s very neighbourly 👍

For anyone travelling by car, check your route and give yourself plenty of time - there is a set of temporary lights moving slowly down Watling St Rd causing chaos. At the moment it is at the T junction near Fulwood Barracks so it's a three-way control system. It looks like it's moving towards Sharoe Green Lane and I expect that it will be a nightmare on Tuesday.

If you turn left at the premier shop about a mile down the A6 you can cut through past the hospital and miss out most of Watling Street Road

Bus replacement service ruining that line so you might want to check.

Looks like some sort of damage limitation exercise by plod where every other away fan is pretty much welcome, although it might have been different for a Saturday 3pm ko.

Personally I'd have told the Old Bill to stuff it if I was BST.
The bus replacement was from Preston to Blackburn yesterday. Nightmare!

Not sure exactly where you mean. There's a Premier shop about 200 yds from the M55 junction. Going down there would ring you on to Sharoe Green but you'll still struggle to miss the jams that are building up. By tomorrow, my guess is that the lights will be near to Fulwood Hall Lane, which is the road to Preston Golf Club. There is usually some space to park towards the end of that. It's then about 20 minutes walk to the ground.

I’ve always gone that way, past Booths and the hospital then come put at the top of Watling street Road near where the Garrison pub is/was
Usually a lot quicker that carrying on down the A6

The vehicle is there-the Trust-but the secretary is too busy willy waving on here.

One thing they could propose and its in keeping with current practice, is for the formation of an independent police group consisting of the local professional clubs,so that issues, crowd control, dealing with arrested fans etc is discussed and solutions found.

Too many of the BST committee are tied up with forums, running the Armfield and of course playing keepy uppy with the FSA but it would certainly have an impact at BR matches.
Why don’t you put yourself forward?

Remember that wonderful walk back to train station with thousands of Pool fans accompanied by police after the Pickering hat trick match!
the only downside was the train we caught home was non stop to Blackpool South requiring a lung busting run to Talbot bus station to catch the 14 bus home. It was well after M/N when I hit the sack but there was no way I was missing school in the morning to carry on the celebrations
