Brexit finally delivering..

The pound's weakness against the dollar and the euro spells bad news for British holidaymakers this summer.
Fears over the UK economy are weighing on markets, causing sterling to sink below $1.20 on Tuesday, its lowest level since the start of the pandemic, before partly recovering on Wednesday.
Versus the euro, the pound is hovering near thirteen-month lows.
As a result many Brits traveling abroad in the next few weeks will find their spending money won't stretch as far.
"The pound remains a very vulnerable currency," said Jane Foley, head of foreign exchange strategy at the Dutch bank Rabobank.
"A lot of this is related to fears about growth," she continued, noting that political uncertainty and a potential trade conflict with the European Union were likely to add to investors' concerns about the UK's economic outlook.

Thank you The Conservative party.

we were O.K.
We had enough Euros for our Continental Hols this year.
All purchased during 'Lockdown; etc.
Still got some left. 😄

I hate these negative posts about Brexit. All of the voters in red wall seats can't have been wrong, can they?

All the trade deals we've negotiated will get us out of the mess.
You touch on a good point there Ollygon going into the the next GE how will Labour and KS play it?

Keep with the current Brexit path ,second referendum or offer Europe concessions which won't play well with the red wall and Blackpool who got rid of Marsden because he constantly went against hie electorate interesting.

It's a fuck up, it was always going to be a fuck up. My 2 employees both voted for Brexit purely on the basis of not being told what to do by the EU. Well, both of them say they were duped.

If KS said Labour would push for a second referendum it would win and lose votes. The problem is we have left now so we would be totally shafted by the EU if we came back, cap in hand. The damage is done and whatever happens we will be in a worse place going forward than we were when we were still a member. But it's done now and we just have to get on with it. Boris the lying wanker will go down in history as the worst Prime Minister in history.

The voters in the red wall seats were quite correctly delivering a negative messge about the way the rich and powerful elites had let us all down. The referendum was an easy and decisive way of delivering that message. Unfortunately for the country, they chose the wrong target at which to aim their disquiet.

Is this satire ? The trade deals bring in little value, EU has its own deals with most of the countries I think , but most of all we are now losing out in selling to Europe , our biggest and nearest market. Many small companies have had to stop selling to Europe due to paperwork and costs making that unviable. We are back to were we were in the early seventies.

Yes

The Brexit vote was a real shock and many factors were involved but if Jeremy Corbin (why are labour always picking the wrong leader?) had stood on platforms with Clegg and Cameron and said I know the EU has faults but for the good of the country all labour voters should vote remain then remain would have easily won
Lets get our facts right shall we?

JC's priority was to stay in the customs union which analysts said would lead to staying in the single market. He repeatedly said remain but reform and would offer a confirmatory vote in June the following year. He certainly had some issues with the EU on workers rights but his positioning was fair and democratic as you would expect.

It has nothing to do with "Labour picking the wrong leader" but a lot to do with you reading the the wrong news papers.

So why don’t Labour grow a pair and say that’s their policy?
Weak opposition to a shocking government
You're living through and experiencing the most hideous government I can ever remember but the opposition needs to prove themselves?

Thats off the scale weird.
Corblimey was so fecking fantastic as Labour leader that he led them to their worst GE defeat since 1935 ! FACTOFECKINGMUNDO ! 19 BLOODY 35 !😂😂😂😂😂🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not even worth a reply but maybe you can expand a little on the back drop to that particular election.
Lets see if you can?

So you don't agree that Labour picked; The wrong Milliband, Unelectable Jeremy rather than Andy Burnham and Sir Keir rather than a female leader for the first time ever!!

Unfortunately Kurious, tactics in the referendum needed to be say it simple and say it loud. Being considered and careful was his undoing there.

Wrong Miliband no; JC rather than Burnham was wrong; current leader should be Lisa Nandy. But those are my views. The Labour leaders are elected democratically by the membership, which is how it must be.

But important that Labour MP's have some import as they have to work with leader (25 ignored his directive on the Rail Strike)

He repeatedly said "remain and reform" so you have to presume he voted remain.
What news papers do you lot read???
Treacherous ones. Rags that (Mail apart) used to be serious newspapers. Now they're ones that support any old right-wing bigot, including those who upset the Queen in her time of distress over losing her husband and those who call the judiciary traitors. The owners of these rags should be locked up for treachery.

Except none of them live in this country.
