Diana Ross at Glastonbury

Dreadful. The Tarquins and Henriettas are pretending they’re enjoying it but we know the truth I think. mind you the crowd look like the sort of people who play Simply Red on their car stereo so you never know.

You have a red button, watch something at Glastonbury that isn't Diana Ross, I know I would.

Blood has a point, but I certainly echo your sentiment Ska
I don‘t disagree with Blood, I just choose to see past the voice, take it for what it is and enjoy it. This tour and Glastonbury slot were booked around 4 years ago and I suspect she may have been in a bit of a better place then.

Her & Macca were awful.
They just don't know when to retire, as despite having lost their singing voices (no surprise at their age) they love the adulation of their fans & one can't argue with that.
I put exactly the same on the Glastonbury thread Blood.
Suddick must have a different telly than us ‘cos he thinks the music is good.
I also mentioned on the Glastonbury thread that my missus is going to watch her at Lytham on Tuesday night; I just hope she has some good supporting acts 😂
I hope your missus takes her ear plugs for that appearance E 😵‍💫

And good supporting singers to sing the songs for her! 😁

You’re right but I can’t enjoy this, it makes me feel a bit sad tbh

No red button available pal
Unlucky mate.
Loads of good stuff over the weekend, Idles, Fontaines DC and Warmduscher been really good. Something for everyone but with the greatest respect to a woman with a legacy 2nd to none I don't want to listen to Diana Ross live, leave it to the vinyl would be my advice if I were worth listening to!

I read some of these funny posts out loud to my missus. So having liked Diana in her youth, she turned the telly over (mid way through Midsomer!) to watch her. After 3 minutes she said "she's making my ears bleed" & turned back to Midsomer 🤣

Bergerac or the intense film set in Scandinavia?
Never seen the Bergerac one but the other is a fantastic film.

It’s a White middle class, middle aged festival from what I can see and what I’ve read

surely it should be for the younger crowd to enjoy but guess they are priced out to an extent plus with acts on like McCartney and Ross why would they be interested

One of Compton’s finest next mind Blood.

Old skool hip hop, still enjoy it.
I was well, well into the Beastie Boys who, despite some thinking were a joke act, ended up well respected throughout the whole industry….for

“terrorising suckers on the Seven Seas,
and if you’ve got beef, you’ll get capped in the knees
We got sixteen men on a dead man's chest
And I shot those suckers and I'll shoot the rest”

Yeh they were early doors.

I haven’t seen her Glastonbury performance. But she was quite good at the Jubilee concert. She was classy and sweet. I like her.
She’s clearly well past her prime in terms of her voice but she’s a living legend. It’s nice to see her being brave and confident enough to put herself out there despite her advancing years.
With regards to the Lytham proms I’d love to see simply red. Love them.
