Worst fears about Appleton coming true

Should be questioning the recruitment team, strategy, failure to secure targets such as Simms.
Not Appleton’s fault he’s been dealt a cráp hand.

I really don't know what it is these days with grown up, and supposed educated people who all of a sudden go into a hissy fit on message boards and social media after one defeat in a football match.

Two years ago, we were absolutely spanked in an early season home game 4-1 by Ipswich then a game or so later, lost away to Wimbledon and had two players sent off. Remind me how that season ended?

I'm not for a moment saying yesterday was good and were on for Promotion and I get that as paying customers critism is allowed, but I really wonder how many people were around in years gone by, when we suffered very early season dire defeats for example Chesterfield at home in 2005 Doncaster away in 2004, QPR away in 2003 or further back Chesterfield again in 1996 or Huddersfield when we lost 4-1 under Sam Allardyce, these are just some examples off the top of my head of early seasond defeats.

If people were around, why have they turned into wet wipes these days ?? If things are so bad after two games, just have a look at the League Table and see who's three places below...

Im not a fan of Appleton but said from the beginning i'll give him a chance. Of course I will, he's manager of the Pool.
But some of the comments after 2 games is ridiculous. Especially since we won the first game.
If we lost the first 2 games and got absolutely tanked both games then I could understand to an extent.
Criticism is welcome. Believe me after yesterday there was plenty I could criticise and there was criticism from the first game, particularly the 2nd half but all of it needs to be constructive otherwise how else do we improve and build. But i'm far from saying he needs the chop. Some need to give their heads a wobble.
A decent win on Tuesday with a some of the players yet to properly feature and some times in the legs and then onwards to the weekend. 👍

They didn’t play the way Appleton wanted

He wants aggressive football not what we saw

He says it won’t happen again

Ffs some people are absolute wet wipes and deluded.

The mans taken charge of 2 games for us, we haven't finished adding to the squad nor has he fully sussed out all the players qualities and weaknesses.

We often don't start seasons well.

Get a grip and get behind him and the team.

Stoke played well and took their goals very very well with great balls in.

We were better 2nd half and really got on top but the 2nd killed it.

Judge after 10 games, OK 6 at a push.

MA got the team wrong and I'm sure he knows that now. If I was going to be v critical of it all it would be that we should have had the players in pre-season so that MA could experiment with the way we play and adjust accordingly. Other than fitness pre-s looks to have been a waste of time in the main.

No dealings of "crap hands" just poor team selection and bad tactics yesterday - no excuses for that Mr Appleton

Interesting because maybe you can have both! I don't think the recruitment has been great this season - despite what Hansen said kids will only win you so much - but Appleton's tactics won't get anyone off their seats (and the problem is those seats won't be filled if he continues a defensive style of football which we have seen in both games).
