    So to Saturday's Fixtures

Since I started doing these little updates on the next set of fixtures, it's interesting (potentially) how many sides we've lost along the way! Fleetwood, Oxford, Crewe, Accrington and I'd even say Doncaster and Gillingham will now struggle to get in the Top Six and so for me the Top 3 are...

Why do so few players have a 'long throw' ability?

Just watching Cheltenham's goal against Tranmere most of which came from Ben Tozer's long throw straight in to the box. I wonder why so few footballers have this skill which is effectively as good as a corner everytime they are in your half (remember Ben Burgess counting 21 long throws from...

No Tuesday Football - Gutted or Relieved?

Have to say my Missus this morning said with a despondent tone - suppose you have football tonight - sadly even the prospect of Wales v Czech Republic meant I couldn't lie and she was utterly delighted. BBQ and a few drinks with the neighbours and do you know, probably like the rest of BFC, I am...

So we go again on Good Friday ..

Worth noting Gillingham face Wigan on Wednesday and a Gills win would push us down to 7th (a point behind but with 4 games in hand). Then Good Friday Few really meaty ones here! I suppose looking at our faint automatic hopes both the Cods and Oxford could do us a favour but ultimately a lot of...

    So to Saturday ...

Posh v Accy aside, a rare weekend when not many sides at the top are facing each other. A few predictions in brackets Blackpool v Plymouth (2-0) Bristol Rovers v Sunderland (0-1) Hull v Gillingham (2-0) MK Dons v Doncaster (1-1) Peterborough v Accrington (2-1) Shrewsbury v Portsmouth (1-1)...

    Tuesday’s Fixtures

Think a few at the top will be watching hoping we get a win on Tuesday. Nice thing is even a draw would take us up to 8th .. do we dare dream about moving up to 6th?

Which of the injured players would have made a difference today?

Maybe testimony to this side is that I don't think any of them would have made that much of a difference to the way we played.

    Comparisons in Points on Twitter

I've just done some research. In 06/07 we had 48 pts from 32 games. In 20/21 we have 50. In 06/07 we took 35 pts from the last 14 game to finish 3rd with 83 while 75 was enough for 6th.

What is 'The Blackpool Way' of playing?

BST in their column this week described the win against MK Dons as not being in the "Blackpool Way" of playing football. Is there such a thing? Aside from Ollie's era and maybe a bit of Larry when we were a decent attacking side, I can't say that we have had a way and actually in my years...

    This weekend's Games

Suppose the big one is that Pompey and Sunderland are playing in the EFL Final which has a knock on effect with Posh not playing either. If we beat Fleetwood we'll be tantalisingly one point off Pompey - quite the turnaround. Elsewhere .. Charlton Athletic v Shrewsbury Town Doncaster Rovers v...

Poor sods! Former Football League boss Lee Clark is back in management in Sudan. He has been appointed the new manager of Sudanese top flight side El Merreikh. Clark, who is 48 years old, last managed in non-league at Blyth Spartans but parted company with the National League North side in...

Clubs you thought were 'big' but now aren't?

I remember going to Charlton for an FA Cup game about 20 odd years ago and at the time was 'wow this is a big club' .. can't say I give them a second thought now and they are where they are.

o/t What do you drink during iFollow games?

Must confess it's one of the rare times I drink these days when we've a game on. 1. It feels more like a matchday experience 2. I still get a few nerves and need a beverage. Who else drinks on a matchday/night and what's your tipple?
