A sign that Marv is off?

Yep, agree 100%. We already know how good in the air and how pacy he is, a very good defender. We also already know how poor he can be on the ball/passing, so why have his team mates been giving him the ball every game?

    Stick or Twist?

Good post. I'm also "on the fence "so to speak, but on balance I've voted twist. I'm also a little concerned that we either can't or won't recruit new managers with new ideas, although I wasn't overly concerned about him returning because he's already got a L1 promotion on his CV. My main...

Where did you buy your first pint?

The Dunes '79 (just after the small rooms had been knocked into 1 pub and separate vaults, whenever that was) 30p IIRC

Premier League record may be lost !

They've got Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Fulham So it's possible at just over 2 goals a game, but unlikely imo. They're currently on just 25 points v 39 we were relegated with. Just reminds me how well we did.

    6 a side football advice

Volunteer to be goalkeeper for the second half 👍 Easier to run harder in the first half if you know you won't have to move as much in the second

AVFTT Player of the Season 2023/24 Vote Now

Agree about Rhodes's goals, but Dembele has been a joy to watch this season (and even though a bit inconsistent, he's still been our most creative player imo), just a pity they're not our players.

    IF!!!

A really big if due to other results needing to go our way. But to answer the o/p, no team will want to play us because we'd have all the momentum, and I wouldn't be bothered about whoever it is we play. With 10 men at home, we scored twice against Peterborough when we had a go at them.

A few out walking the dog tonight

Lovely picture of him in post #9 Jaffa Really sorry for your loss, it was 3 years between losing our spaniel and getting our cocker-poo because it's so upsetting.

    Grimmy double save!!

I mentioned it in the match thread, but you're right it deserves a thread of its own. The initial point blank save was excellent, but then to spring off the floor to get a hand to the header was outstanding. When the ball was pinging around the 6 yard box, their striker controlled the ball...

    Subs

Shayne was pressing very well, defending from the front so to speak. Their back line and DM had little time on the ball, which is perhaps why they tried so many long balls (which were booed by their fans). When Critch changed to a more defensive shape and 1 up top, we immediately conceded...

    Man of the Match.

Dembele is always a candidate for mom, and he was a joy to watch today. Hubby had a very good game, but I would have said either CJ or Carey. Everyone put a good shift in today

    The Best Ref.....................

Yep, the ref had a good game. He tried to keep the game flowing as much as possible, so credit where it's due. My only criticism would be that he failed to award us a stonewall pen when their keeper brought Beesley down after losing an aerial challenge v Beez.

Was that the dodgy penalty for hand ball against Dave Serella? Awful decision.

    Positives this season

Watching Dembele, the first player to get people getting off their seats since Josh Bowler. Yes he needs to be more consistent but he's often a pleasure to watch. Casey's improvement since his return from loan and rightly earning his place in the starting 11 Byers - A good midfielder on loan...

    club survey.

Yep, just completed it I suggested keeping away fans in for a few minutes to avoid fans mixing on Bloomfield Rd. I'm not holding my breath on that one.
