    French Health System

We went to live in France in 2005. Some time later I was having a problem with my left eye. I went to the Doctor who sent me to an eye specialist. After the inspection he said I must have an Operation on the eye. Retina problem. It was arranged for me to go to Bordeaux, over 2 hours drive. It...

    Pensions etc.

MrsDP has just opened the Mail. Yes, 14.30 p.m. and the mail has arrived. She told me that when she reaches 80 years of age, September this year, she will get an increase on her State Pension of 25P per week. I might get a new car.

    Denis Law

Just watched prog on the great Denis Law. He is mow suffering from dementia & Alzheimers. One of the greatest ever IMO. I always remember that when I worked in Manchester PO I used to go to the odd football match with my mate on his scooter. One evening we went to watch Huddersfield Town...

    Women pundits.

I'm not a misogynist but why have women taken over from the men on TV Football? I've nothing against women playing the game but, last season and even more this season they seem to have taken control of every match program. Let them do the Womens' games and men do mens 'games. Stands by for attack.

    Yvette Cooper, opposition MP.

Watched a clip (40 mins) yesterday of her in action at the House of Commons. One of the best I've seen. She took the Tories apart on their thing about Ruanda and put it in complex. Methinks a future Labour Party leader.

    Neil Critchley, BBC Lancs.

Anyone hear Critch on Lancs radio yesterday? He was really having a go at Pools possible fixture pile-up. Forecast as to the possible 6 matches in 16 days and what a farce the pile-up was.

    VAR vote?

In view of quite a few complaints about VAR let's take a vote on VAR Yes & VAR No. OK, there are advantages in VAR usage, but do they they outweigh the disadvantages? I don't know how to do a voting type list, but there are plenty on here who are adept at that sort of thing.

    Stonehenge

I have been to Stonehenge a few times. Absolutely fascinating place. Just watched a documentary about it with Dan Snow. How did they convey the 'Blue Stones', weighing 3/4 tons, from S. Wales. That's not as difficult, but a fantastic achievement at the time. It's possibly the greatest...

    Devonshire Rd Hospital.

Now going to be our knew Law Courts. With 12 Courts I think. As a 5 year old (1940) I was in the hospital, with Chicken Pox (I think). It was Christmas and my Dad came to see me but had to stay outside the ward and speak through a window. He was in Army Uniform. It as the last I saw of him until...

    D on McLean

I'm almost in tears. Just dug out my Don McLean disc. Listened to American Pie, then Vincent. Vincent is the most beautiful song he sings, so full of feeling for the subject. Think I'll play it again now. Going through my CDs now. MrsDP wants me to 'downsize' and get rid of most. ABBA x 3...

    Red & Yellow Cards etc

When you see the points mounting up for cards these days I think about the past. Not too many years ago either. The legend John 'Chopper' McPhee would never be on the pitch these days. A very hard player and a great favourite. However, todays interpretation of the 'Laws of the Game' is vastly...

    Cameras

Any camera collectors out there? I've got quite a few, old and not so old, which I shall probably never use again. Even got a Fuji Film Finepix S which I don't remember getting (Oh the problems of ageing). Going free to any collector.

    Don McLean.

MrsDP and I were sorting out some cupboards etc. We found a sheaf of papers, which I didn't know I had. It was about Don McLeans' great song 'American Pie'. Went through the whole song line by line explaining what every line means. Too long to write on here, but very interesting. 10 foolscap...

    How long?

If we don't win the next match will action be taken from the top? How many games will it be before 'enough is enough'?

    Great Grandson.

Had a visit from our oldest G/G./son yesterday. 13 y.o. and he's just a bit taller than I. Lovely lad and apparently a good footballer. M.o.Match in his game last week. Plays for one of the Foxhall Junior teams.

    BoJo (again)

I've noticed that quite few, maybe a lot, of Tory MPs are coming out against Johnson now. It's not that long ago that the same MPs were crawling around him and he was their God. What a load of two faced morons they are.

    Ex MP Boris?

The Tory party must have been off their collective heads. Actually making BOJO Prime minister. What on earth were they thinking about? Hang your heads in shame.

    Saudi plans for football.

I read recently that Saudi Arabia want to start their own internal football league. If they do the prices for players will go through the roof. They'll be after every good player there is. Huge signing on fees and salaries for the players. Money is no object to them, they think it grows on...

How much money is in the Kitty.??

Now that it's all over and Critch is in, how much will their be in the kitty(not a cat please) to spend on new players? We are obviously short in quite a few areas, so how much Critch get to build a decent team?
