Exactly, any deal you do now, will be more expensive than the summer. Makes sense for everyone to reconvene in May.

Getting towards the type of thing we'd accept then I imagine. I've no idea what Thorniley is "worth". He's played less than 100 league games, and has made the same number of league appearances for us as he has for you. Personally I'd have him back to be a squad player, but wouldn't want to be...

The longer it goes, the less time there is to close out the deal. If we really want to accept, you'd think we'd want to allow as much time as possible for it to get done to allow any potential replacement to be sorted or avoid it collapsing due to time constraints.

For example, if you guys rate Thorniley at say 400k and are offering let's say 500k plus Thorniley so a total transfer of 900k. The fact that Thorniley can only play for us or you again this season, means we have the upper hand for negotiating the Thorniley worth to the deal. If you value him...

We often sign a younger "development" type player when it's likely that one or two of the main stays are set to move on. Mark Sykes is out of contract in the summer and won't sign a new contract as it stands. Smyth feels more of a readymade replacement for him especially being a part-time...

Thorniley is expected to be recalled from his Oxford loan spell....

This is the thing, I'm not sure we do necessarily "want" Thorniley enough to do something given the current state of play in this window (not this can't change), hence only having him on loan and seemingly not being too fussed about turning it permanent at the moment. Based on the events so far...

Thorniley is expected to be recalled from his Oxford loan spell....

2 of each for league games without him. (Beat Accy & Fleetwood, Drew with Rotherham & Sunderland, Lost to Wigan & Lincoln) There's no doubt our "best" partnership is Moore & Thorniley, but then they have played the most together. I would be surprised if his departure completely ruins our back 4...

Thorniley is expected to be recalled from his Oxford loan spell....

He's not played in just under a quarter of our league games. Of our 26 league games so far: 20 played 1 unused sub 5 not in squad

Thorniley is expected to be recalled from his Oxford loan spell....

We rejected a bid in the region of 500k from Millwall in the Jan 2021 window, this was after CB had missed almost 3 months of the season with a serious eye problem that was incredibly close to seeing him lose his sight permanently. In the second half of the 20/21 season, he was one of our best...

Thorniley is expected to be recalled from his Oxford loan spell....

Been a strange situation right from the summer. As I've just said on our forum, we announced Thorniley signing for us on loan on 1st August. Your interest in Brannagan didn't just spring from nowhere halfway through August. Surely all this back and forth could have been done as part of Thorniley...

We always play the young lads in the Pizza trophy rather than risk key players. Brannagan and Thorniley also only played 45 minutes between them across two league cup games. Key players don't get risked. They can ring whoever now - the board are in Asia and will be nice and tucked up.

I do yes. KR isn't very good at hiding when he is annoyed/angry etc and he certainly would be if there was a deal currently at this moment live and likely to be done. My concern would be that with the early kick-off of the Tinpot Trophy, there is still a couple of hours after that has finished...

They've been going through all our dealings in order this summer so far as part of their transfer deadline live ticker. Thorniley was the latest one (prior to Kane & Davis) hence why it's popped up now.

Most reliable poster on the Oxford forum stated the below around 15:30. The poster has had a 100% success rate with regards to transfer dealings this summer. "Another bid had been made. But no bid had been accepted just after lunch time. Brannagan certainly wasn’t at their ground when he was...
