    Just been pinged

We had a lad test positive with Covid on thursday after work. The civilian staff were sent home friday till next wednesday and the MOD Staff were told it's carry on as normal. Same rest room, same close proximity to the lad infected but he had named his civvy mates as close contacts and didn't...

So how much would you pay to watch..........

Call me old fashioned but I'd pay £20 at a push, but not regularly.... and that's only if the missus could get herself in by climbing over the wall or by going shopping instead. The twenty's plenty campaign didn't last long. Watched Squires Gate last night for £5, that'll do me and the Blackpool...

    Tenuous connections to footballers

Peter Suddaby taught us technical drawing at our school in Fleetwood in the late 70's as a relief teacher. I shared a cabin on sea trials with ex Rangers player Brian Heron who was manager of Maryhill FC at the time. Half his team worked for BAE in Scotstoun on the T45 warship programme. I also...

Switzerland. Thinking of going for ...

If driving on their roads, you'll need a vignette, it costs a bit and they give you a green sticker for your windscreen to prove you've paid for use of the roads. Great driving over the mountains for the views but the tunnels do the job.

Footballer with most unusual but quite cool name

Glasgow born Carlo Monti always stood out as name that was penned in the wrong order at birth. His name has been around the Scottish circuit of League and Junior footy for a good while, must be retired by now.

    Keep VAR or end VAR?

Maybe having dabbled with VAR and found it's decisions still debatable , maybe football will accept the referee's decisions for what they are. No one is infallible but as long as they are honest decisions then I don't know why football can't accept the ref's decision in the same spirit Rugby...

    Club badge

I remember visiting Ayr United, the Club shop were selling everything at Poundstretcher prices. When I asked why it was all so cheap, the woman running it said they had no choice. Some Airdrie fan had reported them for having their Club badge on a shield and not having registered it with the...

Been to Bahrain a dozen or so times but not since 2019. Stayed at the new UK base in the dockyard in Manama more recently, to the north near the airport, as we went to inspect ships alongside. Only 33 miles long wasn't a great deal to do but managed to get a few games of footy in whilst out...
