Reports that the agents taken on by P & O are paying their staff £1.80 an hour. How can that be? Why would anyone work for that when they can sit at home on universal credit and do odd jobs cash in hand.

On the news NowFirst question, what's the source for that claim?
On the news Now
It was in that well known left wing polemical rag, the Mail on Sunday yesterday.First question, what's the source for that claim?
I heard it on the News as well. I think the source might have been the workers themselves? I thought they said £2-80 an hour though?
Ah, so they're lying about the wages in their new job? It was the new people saying how much, not the sacked workers. The workers? The RMT?
How would they know and even if they did would they tell you the truth anyway?

Well thanks to Thatcher you can’t even get the pleasure of a good whipping now, but thanks to the New Brexit or Net Zero Crowd led by Farage (if he can find a venue willing to have him so he can launch his “Vote (White?) Power Not Poverty” campaign, the pits will soon be re-opened and whippings are back on the menu!Don't know what the fuss is about. When I were a lad I worked down pit for 27 hours a day and if I didn't perform I were whipped within an inch of my life. Bloody snowflakes this lot moaning about being paid.
Can't wait to get me old job back. If you were one of the lucky ones you'd also get a dose of ricketsWell thanks to Thatcher you can’t even get the pleasure of a good whipping now, but thanks to the New Brexit or Net Zero Crowd led by Farage (if he can find a venue willing to have him so he can launch his “Vote (White?) I can expect a backlash for this post methinks.
About 5 years ago I was talking to a guy from Zimbabwe who said some tobacco plantation workers were only getting the equivalent of 50p a day !
Serfs then. Lose the job, lose everything.50p is not correct and they are Tobacco Farms not plantations.
They also have free housing for their workers, wives and children, a clinic and schools.
