Blackpool FC Community Trust is extremely proud to announce they were named 'Community Club of the Season’ at Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards last night.

In this category there was a tough opposition, the finalists amongst Blackpool FC Community Trust were Community Teams from Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic.

Blackpool FC's Manager, Neil Critchley, added to the success of the evening and was awarded 'Manager of the Season' after finishing his first year at the club. Critchley was up against the likes of Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Bolton Wanderers, Ian Evatt.

The event, held at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, saw Football Clubs from across the Northwest come together to celebrate the region's best and brightest on and off the pitch.

In recent years the Trust has seen significant development and has become an established organisation, providing something for everybody, that every Blackpool FC fan and resident should be involved in and very proud of.

This award commends The Trust for the huge impact had throughout the pandemic, as well as the work that continues every day and provides support to those in our community.

Ashley Hackett, CEO at Blackpool FC Community Trust said, “I am so proud of the impact that we have consistently provided to our community and none of it would have been possible without the hard work and commitment of our remarkable staff. With the support of Blackpool Football Club, we have been able to achieve great results regardless of the effects of the pandemic. Many of the areas we have developed will continue to be implemented in the future as it allows us to engage with and help more people in the most deprived town in England.”

With the help of their fantastic team, now nearly 100 strong, the Trust provide a diverse range of programmes to increase social inclusion opportunities; lessen involvement in anti-social behaviour; improve physical fitness, health, and education for Blackpool residents as young as two years old, up to adults in the later stages of life.
