Anyone a bit disappointed with that gate last night? Playing the way we are and with the job Critch has done, with over 2000 away fans you'd like to think we're knocking on the door of 10,000 per game unless we have a load of secret I'm a Celeb and Bake Off fans!

The availability of TTV and Sky red button will take some off the gate. Especially midweek.

Football fans have always been fickle and always will. Midweek numbers always drop off in the winter.

Block X in the south stand was virtually Empty & Block W only half full . The rest of the South Stand had loads of empty seats . I too thought that last nights attendance was disappointing We are averaging only just over than last time we were in this division & less than the couple of seasons previous to that , which is most odd.

Doesn't help when we have fans like @Torycorner who have more excuses than a scouser in court as to why they won't attend a midweek game at home.
More excuses than a Tory in a corner.

I guess Covid, and the boycott years, have both had an effect. Will take time to recover from those things. And cold midweek nights before Xmas aren't the time for that to happen.

I said at the beginning of the season, 8,000 season tickets was pretty disappointing. 10k respectable.
Not sure how the half season ticket will go but can't see them shifting more than 100?

I go in the North block B and it was a bit lack luster last night, not the usual energy we have, but it just isn't going to be rockin every single game. Must admit it was and is disappointing to see so many empty seats last night and let's face it,it was very mild for a November evening. So what do we do?,just keep on progressing like we are and hope word of mouth and results can make the undecided come back, they are there for sure, look at the attendances we were getting back in the Championship after our one season in the Prem. We are never going to get 17/18 thousand hardcore home support, but there is potential for more.

I thought the North did well and it spread to the West, being sat in the South it obviously sounds like lots joining in but difficult to tell when you are amongst it, I do know there were a fair few seats empty in T Block.

Trouble with this “Best Fans In The Land” - of course we are - malarky is that it makes a rod for your own back when the ground isn’t as noisy, maybe it wasn’t, but its still a million times better than it was so don’t beat yourself up about it - a goal for us would have taken the roof off!

PS As for folks not attending, forget it, all you can do is turn up as much as you can and say “Well at least I was there!”

It was a fantastic attendance. Not too long ago we'd gone 3 decades and more without ever getting a 10,000 crowd including away fans. Now most are complaining because we have less than 10,000 home fans?!

I wonder if these same fans are the same fans, who made up the majority on the ground capacity threads, saying there was no need for a bigger stadium?

The thing is that we will sell out a 20,000 seater stadium if we were to return to the Premier League especially if you give 2/3rds of a new east stand when the away team has a big following. Also if we go down to League 1 again we will draw circa 7,000 home fans and 14,000+ home fans in the PL. That is football no matter who you support.

I've been away at Cardiff in the 90s with less than 3,500 on and seen Swansea bring 27 fans to Bloomfield Road. Just look at Blagburn's crowds now they've had a few years away from the top flight.

Personally think the attendance was just average. Could’ve been more but there’s a host of reasons why people don’t show up, particularly at this time of year.

I also think the south has suffered due to migration to the north stand where the atmosphere is miles better.

I wonder if the club offering cheaper seats in the Armfield and branding it as a family area would attract more ticket sales.

It won’t affect the Attendance figures as they will be counted but last night around me in the South quite a few empty seats…family of 4 on a few days break…guy next to me can never make midweek games due to work….2 seats in front of me are elderly and staying away due to covid…as I said it won’t affect attendance figs as all are S/T holders but it does lessen the singing/Atmosphere.

Don't forget that it is also a school night with many kids (plus one parent) staying home. Our 'normal' group was three short due to this. You cannot expect young kids to get home after 10.30pm on a school night.

Apparently some people on here couldn't be arsed as it was a bit chilly.

See the board for further details.

Nearly Two years away because of covid and still people come up with excuses not to go… to be honest it is their loss and they are missing some great games as we compete with teams who were streets ahead of us not that long ago. I wish there were more but the club need to fight tooth and nail to re engage some fans. Youngsters aged between 18 and 24 is a massive area of support we should be tapping into as almost every other club does. We missed a trick not having a concession for that age group.
