Nope Wizzerboy if it is what I suspect it is then this is part of Blackpool Council's plan to transform that whole area. The last time I saw the designs they were very good, with AFC Blackpool moving out of Jepson Way to a new purpose built stadium that would as I recall include a gym and various other sports.

I wonder if this will take a bit of pressure off the club to build a training ground that is also a multi-function use facility for the community?

Using Pool Foot as a model it pays to have that, always busy so will produce income for the Club.
And would become a real Community asset.
When I have been there lots of boys & girls playing wearing Fleetwood kits.
That's what we need to get that generation interested UTMP

AFC blackpool moving behind cricket club. It's going to be a 3g pitch with stadium.

All common edge pitches going and going to be on the marsh land at end of runway.
But will take ages let's hope they put a good drainage system down

I also have heard Cricket club is moving with St Anne's but that's just a rumour.

There was at one time some quite ambitious plans for the airport site "sports village" but the reality is that the current tenants including AFC don't generate enough revenue to pay the increased rents to pay off the money that would need to be borrowed to fund the development. What is planned therefore is a slight upgrade but really a like for like to enable the expansion of the enterprise zone by opening up a new entrance to it from the east side. So I was told.

Like for Like will do, with (plus) 3g pitches, a training facility, a club house and some sodding security to stop the thieving little scrotes breaking in

Does that mean they’ll be taking up the concrete cricket wickets between the pitches and knocking down the tin corrugated dressing rooms or as that already been done?
