16th May. Bundesliga

Anyone planning a weekend of German football?
  • B Dortmund v Schalke
  • Augsburg v Wolfsburg
  • Düsseldorf v Paderborn
  • RB Leipzig v Freiburg
  • Hoffenheim v Hertha Berlin
  • Frankfurt v B Mgladbach

I'm waving the flag for Schalke and Union

Interesting podcast on Bundesliga Diaries about all the hoops they are going through

Think it's going to be a very sterile experience - which is the polar opposite of its normal vibrancy

I've nailed my colours to Union Berlin and am looking forward to tomorrow. I'm having to shell out money on the PS4 BT sport app for a monthly pass though. It better be worth it.

Well I’ve just watched 3 games on BT sports (flicking over every 5-10 minutes) and every game was absolutely soulless, just why have the authorities bothered?

Premier league will be the same should it come back.

So It’s a big fat 👎 from me.

Just had an exchange with a mate of mine in Munich, he said it was terrible and lifeless to watch without fans and no atmosphere and like watching a central league match in the 70s!

B Dortmund 4 Schalke 0
Augsburg 1 Wolfsburg 2
Düsseldorf 0 Paderborn 0
RB Leipzig 1 Freiburg 1
Hoffenheim 0 Hertha Berlin 3

Dortmund looked a cut above. Was weird watching them all spaced out on the bench wearing masks

On the good side the games are still competitive and not like a friendly. However it is very odd without fans in the ground. I’ve been watching the Belarus league games the last few weeks which have had the grounds open but barely anyone there either

And Leipzig ruined my treble. Bastards.

Two things that came out of it for me. 1. The amount of people desperate to watch yesterday 2. BT Sports rights team must be like the cat that got the cream - Sky must be spewing!
