25 Years of AVFTT - Favourite Memories

So, I still have the same e-mail address I had 25 years ago and have saved loads of stuff over those years and I noticed recently that I received an e-mail from Fansonline confirming my membership to AVFTT on July 16 2000 which means this summer we are coming in to it's Silver anniversary (not sure when it actually started but I remember it was pretty new when I first joined as someone had put a link on the old Seasiders.net).
So, I wonder if @avftt_admin can pin this over summer and we can have a summer of reminiscing on 25 years of AVFTT?
Can I start with an honourable mention for Rocky64 RIP who I remember as being AVFTT's first protagonist!

Reading the posts after we made it to Wembley after beating Forest in the play-offs. Was in a bit of a whirlwind after that leading up to the play-off final and of course the days after securing promotion to the Premier league. A hell of a lot of positivity which is rare for AVFTT 😅

There's no doubt that pre compared to post Prem this was a different place. Posters come and go, but it's still a good place generally with a great SOH.

For some reason my favourite thread was the Millwall Stu one, when he thought they'd given his ST seat away.

The pompous couple who went to non league games ( I think ) during the NAPM years were pretty entertaining as were all the spoof Joffra posts and the accented Riga ones .

The thread by the Grimsby fan who listed everyone who could f**k off after Grimsby had been relegated from L2 a few years ago. Even Gok Wan randomly got a mention iirc

And yep, @Lytham_fy8 ""Dear Joffrey" posts were pretty good as well. Hope to see the return of George Orwell's picture again as his avatar when Lytham returns to the site.

Just reading the words 'phantom farter' has made me laugh. Great thread that one...

For the benefit of BruceyBonus, it was basically about an unknown fan in the West who would consistently drop numerous Nazi facemelters at games. Think there was an amnesty period for the phantom farter to reveal themselves and be avoid of recrimination.

There were some staggeringly good posts from CarpetMartin during the boycott era. 'Fire up the Picasso!'

The 8-Darter501 thread was a cracker and another one was the Cat-Shitting thread, both hilariously funny!

In fact I've just pissed mi pants thinking about them...😁😜

The players catching the clap pissed me although I seem to remember someone getting into trouble over it. FFing Oystons although they got what was coming to them £31 million times 😂

I think we did the best ever “Sheffield Wednesday are so massive they…” which went on for absolutely ages and attracted outsiders from all over the place to marvel at the same.

The Dark Lord getting taken to absolutely pieces after posting some trip from onboard a train was memorable.

And the lunchtime sandwiches thread when things were really quiet and desperate on here

I remember Rocky64 .. used to chase Owen around Bloomfield Road calling him Grandad. Started a garden landscape business from memory but I saw him a few times over the years (Liam) and he always seemed to have mental health problems. He was actually a very clever lad but sadly just didn't have the strength to get through it.

Most of these seem to have disappeared due to being on the old site / server, but I've found a couple.

Wallace's left boot....

And the 8 dart finish (courtesy of Sunderland)....

Seasiders.net since 1997, took a little while to get on here. Probably watched from 2002 and made my first post on 2007, prior to Wembley.

I am not really on any other social media so this has been my Blackpool home since leaving the town.

There are so many which immediately jump to the front of my mind.

Early days STANLEYBLADE from Tranmere was was always out to stab someone!

The day trips to other sites were great fun.

The Christmas parties on here before the "in real life" meetings took place. It was where I first saw across the office @Lala

Wallace Left Boot of course

The Windmill

The unbelievable volume of posts in and around Wembley 2010.

And being able to fundraise for fans who couldn't afford a ticket. That was special.

The apologies threads. The attempt to humiliate and scare fans backfired as for many of us it was the final straw. There was no going back after that. I think they were collectively the most disgusting things I've ever read; and again on the flip side we raised funds for those with life changing fines.

The court reports. Seriously has there ever been live updates from a court room by a group of fans. Heroic efforts.

The utter disbelief when £31.2m was posted from the court room. I had a tear roll down my cheek as I sat there in my office; knowing it was over.

Away parking and away pubs.

There was something about not giving someone a football or something which caused merry hell.

And of course "this site is closing"

I think we probably are lucky to really have only one board, have enough fans to make it a good read with diverse opinions but not so large that it's completely anonymous.

I've only knowingly met a handful of posters on here; but there is no finer way to while away some time than reading about Blackpool and popping over to O/T board.

62yrs and counting was always a good laugh. Didn't he fall out with eveybody and offer people out Lol.

Come on where's the stripey dress photo? Hpotter37 etc... posts were entertaining. Tommy Black was it that turned around on the M6 because it was raining? Remember selling Clarkey to Southend the world ended but Evo came in next day. OldLeeds, Chopper, The gloves, Berlin, ValleyMcB lots of entertaining posters. Happy Birthday AVFTT (and seasiders.net mailing list which must be 5 years older).

Some great memories there TS - I was going to mention the fundraiser for the Wembley ticket. There's also been loads of other moments that I won't drag up, where the board how really been there for people. For all the 'toxic' stuff on here, there's a whole heap of positives that demonstrate the community spirit of the board. It's allowed me to meet new people who've become genuine friends.

I started actually posting on here somewhere early in the 2006/07 season. I was a regular on INOIT prior to that.

It's been eventful. Hilarious at times, truly toxic at times (especially leading up to the suing of fans and boycott years) as well as completely profound with fans helping fans through all sorts and people (myself included) being able to openly talk about health issues, illness and grief.

It's a strange old site.

Read it for ages without posting. Posted for a bit last year but thought some people were a bit bullying. Still do.

But there are some really good posters and interesting topics.
