5 years in prison

Burnley should ban him for life. If it were a Blackpool fan who had done this, I would expect the same.

As for Lucy Connolly, I think the sentence is harsh; she isn't telling people to set fire, she is telling them she doesn't care if they do it.
She was let down by the solicitor who told her to plead guilty; she should have gone to trial, where a jury would have probably
acquitted her. It will be interesting when the trial happens for the Manchester Airport incident, if they don't receive a stiff sentence.

I have never seen this before: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/06/24/the-mistreatment-of-lucy-connolly-in-prison-is-sinister/

Finally, a message for governor Ralph Lubkowski and the staff of Peterborough prison: you really wouldn’t want any further harm to come to Lucy Connolly between now and her release, trust me. We see you.

A journalist, in a national newspaper, directly threatening a public official, by name, this is unheard of.
Seen the recent issues regarding her. Due for release soon, randomly moved to a high risk unit that handles the most volatile and dangerous people. Allegedly manhandled badly.

She's apparently been a model prisoner and there's talk of them trying to get a reaction so she's not released.

Its almost as if they denied her bail etc and don't want her out as it could expose the way she was put away and is a very bad look.

I wonder who else this type of thing was done against by the state...

And apparently, even the worst of the worst, on that wing, think she's being hard done by.

Thinking about this, it seems to me that they're looking for a good day to bury bad news; then next suicide-bombing, mass stabbing etc, and then quietly shove her out when everyone's looking the other way, and they want to hold onto her until that day comes.

Wouldn't surprise me, when is she due for release?

Incitement to murder, not hurty words.

'Burn down the hostels, even if there are people in them. I don't care'.
Come off it, it's not as if anyone was ever actually going to do that, and if they were, it's not anything to do with what she wrote.

You could get away with less than what she got for rape.

They did try and burn down a hostel with people in it.

Who was she telling to burn down the hotels and who did she want murdering?

Her actual words in response to the Rotherham attempted arson were,

Set fire to all the f***ing hotels full of the b******s for all I care.

Think its fairly clear she meant the asylum seekers in hostels, especially as she pleaded guilty in court.

She should have got a slap on the bottom and been told not to do it again, 2 years 7 months custody was grossly excessive, and the authorities appear to have decided to aggravate that.

She probably shouldn't have pleaded guilty to the charges

No way should that have been the charge

Very badly advised

Doesn't surprise me to be honest, especially when you look at some of the left winger ex layers on this site

You must be delighted she's in prison

There were several others who were badly advised to plead guilty.

Blame the lawyer.

You're really struggling now.

I wish she'd never written it.

She pleaded guilty to racially motivated incitement to murder.

Anyone who thinks that's acceptable needs to really think about that.
It's the internet mate, I've been called a c*** on here, told to f*** myself (not sure on the mechanics there), told to kill myself, etc, etc, if you're going to take it seriously then you've got a big problem.

How many people have posted on here that certain people should be taken out, like thay lunatic in the US they say.

Should they be locked up too?

Is there a single conspiracy theory you're not signed up to?
There's many actually that are obviously BS, this is an interesting case is it not, she was denied early release etc when many worse offenders get it.

Also who are you to call out a conspiracy ffs, you're the worst at it.

Here you are about Trump.

Did he really take a bullet? Healed incredibly quickly for a man of his age.

Can't help feeling it was staged.
Sit this one out.

Well she shouldn't of, that's my point

What a ridiculous charge

She didn't qualify for early release. End of.

Sorry, but that's not an excuse. It's out there.

The bloke who killed Jo Cox did it after spending a lot of time of the Internet looking at far right websites saying left MPs deserved to die.

And yet these fools are playing Glastonbury this weekend after advocating the killing of Tory MP’s.
Are they playing? I thought they'd been stopped.

Yes, you're right in that they should be held to account.

Like many others, pressured by people supposed to be on their side, showing the state can just push to get the result it wants. They wanted convictions to show they were dealing with it. That pressure came from the top.

Threatened with being remanded and the case not being heard for ages so would have been away longer than pleading guilty. That then gives them the guilty pleas and people like wiz lap it up saying well they pled guilty so must be.

One guy who bravely challenged it was acquitted in a matter of minutes by an actual jury.

Its ok, they apologised... doesn't seem to work for some though.

Lucy Connollys tweet wasn't right, but she took it down and it was after a highly emotional shocking event and she lost a child, apparently never really got over it and got triggered by suffering of little ones.

There's no doubt if all was taken into account she wouldn't and shouldn't have got the sentence she did.
