6 points from 12 games

We are without doubt a second division team, that is a seriously shocking run 6 points from a possible 36. We won't go down, but the whole squad and management team need a complete shake up. It's all very well getting all these players in, but they just aren't performing or are they just not good enough? You have to question the scouting and who chooses who we sign because whoever it is needs their P45

I said it several weeks ago. We don't have ANY players who you can warm to or think "Wow" I'm glad we have him, unlike the old team Grayson had in 2007. I think Tommy Johnson has been shite, this really is a steep learning curve for SS, it's much easier to put the infrastructure right but much much harder to get thing right re the football itself. I think his naivety and inexperience is putting that in the spotlight. It could take him a while to get his head round it. It isn't a Hedge Fund business, it's a football club. I feel sorry for him, it must be bloody difficult.

Basically as we stand now we have to write off the whole first year of Simon Sadler's 2/3 year plan to get out of this league.
A new Manager has to start from scratch in the summer with the 6/7 players that will be left after all the loans go back.... not quite going to plan I don't think....

6 points from the next 12 games would put us on 44 points and that is entirely possible. That would leave one game left. We are the worst team in the league on form and that is now going back over 2 months. Something cannot be right.

From my removed position it doesn't look very good at all whats going on with BFC, I didn't like the cut of the chief exec's jib in his Gazette interview and the whole Larry thing has left a bad taste for me. The feel good factor that should have lasted at least a season has been wasted and it would seem the club and playing staff are in complete disarray, pretty worrying...

We aren't the worst team on form. Over the last 6 games anyway believe it or not 5 teams worse than us. Just shows what a poor league this is.

Yet you slagged me for saying, or intimating what was happening.

There is a deep rooted problem here. A real manager, as clappers wants, is like putting a plaster on a broken leg.

they went with Larry it didn’t work. Brought a few loans in so that any new manager wouldn’t be saddled with a full team. Highly likely we will stay up get a new manager in, sign some more players & go again. No need for conspiracy theories, it is what it is, we have no god given right to become a good team overnight. We have a great new owner who is pumping millions of his hard earned in, we will get there patience grasshoppers.

I pulled your leg, I would never slag you off Fount's! You were down on the whole takeover for some reason. I am still happy that Sadler is the owner and he is doing a lot of things right, but he isn't beyond criticism and I think he has had a plan, a bit of a ok yah, confident, money man sort of plan and it's not what a club like ours needs. So I think he needs to look at what he has done, who he has put in positions of power and what they do and reflect on whether he has made a mistake or not.

I, too, am pulling your leg😇 , but there are issues wider that the pitch.

I'm sure we'll see them come to the fore at some point. Sad, but true. And fans need to get away from the mentality that Oyston broke our legs so we're thrilled to just have a broken arm now.

Fans need to show at least a modicum of patience & cut the board & owner some slack

Larry was the wrong choice from the off, so that set us back massively.
Looks like they’ve now fcuked up the chance to get Evo in. God knows who we will end up with, probably Ben’s mate, but the scouting seems to be scattergun at best. Very reminiscent of the bad old ways.
Evo said it in his interview: decide on the way you want to play and bring in the players to implement it. Drum it into the players in training & coaching. Not rocket science, but we seem to be struggling with the basics.
What’s the chief scout up to? No hint of players from Ireland or abroad, where you can often get better quality at lower fees.

It's been a disappointing season but it is what it is. I don't get all the worrying though, just chill out. We are not going down and it's a case of seeing the season out now whether you like it or not . Happens all the time to many teams every season.
Calling for Johnson to be sacked is ridiculous. He's had one transfer window. Patience is needed and in particular picking the right manager. Too many people especially on here are having a meltdown after every game. It's honestly laughable.

Agree AS,hope the board arnt inputing on style of play, tactics, systems and team selection. Maybe a reason for Tim leaving his position.

Founts:
OK so you've cashed in your pension pot and invested it in BFC.
Clearly you will have a bit of cash but you need your investment to self finance to a certain extent.
So what would you do differently from Sadler.
A few things on which you may have acted differently.
Appoints Grayson because of his record in getting teams promoted from League 1.
Appoints an experienced CEO with a good record of communication with supporters and wide experience of players through his agent experience.
Appounts an experienced Chief Scout.
Sets targets for the Manager and sacks him when these aren't met.
Doesn't appoint a new manger without due process.

Blood.
That's a bit pessimistic. We just need to get the right manger.
The standard in League 1 is average and is not likely to be much different next season.
The problem will be being competitive in the Championship, should we be lucky enough to get there.

The structure is wrong.
there are more strings being pulled than in a cat's cradle. So it seems.

So come on then, what structure do we need?
I'm of the view that Sadler is a clever man. He's learned the finance business and become successful.
He's now learning a new business and currently he's very much a novice. With the wonderful benefit of hindsight Grayson was a big miskake.
So he's now analysing that mistake and trying to ensure that the next manager will be an improvement.
He's probably also analysing all the models of successful football clubs and trying to pull together the best bits.
However all the analysis in the world will never bring together another Ollie and the squad of 2010 which was just "the infinite number of monkeys with the infinite number of typewriters coming up with the complete works of Shakespeare" and that's despite KoKo.
So I'm confident Simon will get it right.

As far as appointing a new manager is concerned, that person needs to sell his ideas on how to get us promoted to the Board, not the other way around (in my opinion). Of course that's what the Board wants, but they need to buy in to the new manager's ideas and fast!! We'll soon be moaning that the season is just around the corner...

I'll give the owner all the patience in the world. He's shown that he's prepared to put his money where his mouth is and invest in the club.
Selecting the right manager is never an easy job and there of course is no guarantee of success that the manager will be a success. But for me, the buck stops with the manager. That's why I supported Sadler in his choice of manager but also why I quickly saw how it was doomed to failure.

For Sadler and the fans sake I hope he gets it right next time. And I'm sure Sadler will be prepared to financially back him once again. But ultimately football is about the manager and the players. Sadler can't do anything about it once the players cross the white line but the playersand manager can. And that's what they need to do. Prove themselves1

Yes the right Manager but also take away the loaners and we need about 8 first team players

So it seems no Gnanduillet no goals, another team that should of been there for the taking after losing 0-5 in mid week only for us to roll up and do nowt.

Wow - bit of a damning indictment of Johnson. I think all the young lads who have come in have been excellent and certainly not the problem. Go after this pedigree of player and it will serve us well. The problem is we are lacking the old heads who can grind sides down and win a game. Stephen Husband as Captain at left back doesn't really instil that belief.

Agree with Blood, take the loan players out of the team and we are bottom half of the league material. Bottom line is, early doors we were lucky to win a few games and gave a false impression as to how good we were. Our players are not good enough, almost every combination of players and formations have been exhausted. Bringing Pep Guardiola in couldn't polish this turd! A new manager with a decent amount of time and patience by us the fans is required to turn this around. Get yourselves away from that couch tomorrow and cheer the lads on, they need all the help they can get.

Got to laugh at some of the wordings on this thread regarding Sadler,I hope he does read the board for comical reasons.
