One thing that I would say about the league table at the moment is that it’s heavily weighted against us because of the number of home games we’ve played.

Most teams at the top have played 3/4 more home games than we have and if we can show some decent home form, I’d say it’s probably worth about 3/4 points extra than we are currently on.

If we win our next game then we have 34 points at halfway. Looking at the points total for 6th place in the last few years it ranges from 69 to 74 points. That's not a huge uplift in form from where we are at the moment. If we get through February relatively unscathed we have a decent chance.

Are home games the advantage they were with crowds? I assume familiarity with the ground and no travel makes a difference, but the “twelfth man” impact of home crowds can’t be underestimated. Having said that, I’ve been to plenty of home games where the players have had loads of abuse.

Those home games in hand are against Rochdale, Northampton and Accrington. I believe we still have the ambition to go up and those games are winnable.
Once upon a time we had three home games on the trot against Wigan, Newcastle and Stoke ....

I do agree with your post, mind
