A long day and disappointed.

Setting off at 6 am and arriving home at 23.25 made yesterday a very long day, but it was great to meet other pool fans I had not met before and rekindle some friendships with people I hadn't seen for a while. The bus was great, the two drivers were excellent and the journey down with a stop at a great pub for a couple of hours was just the job. I unfortunately just missed the train I was aiming for from Leeds to Shipley as I saw the rear end of it leaving the station so had to wait a while for the last train which was full of the usual drunks, loudmouths, silly inebriated young girls and lads with their feet on the table and seats. Not to worry, it was a great day out.

Now to the disappointment, that has come this morning reading some of the miserable posts on this board. What do some expect from a team suffering from reoccurring injuries, 40 places below the opposition on their home ground, a ground we have never won at?

How would these people have re-acted had we been thrashed 10-1, yes I refer to Exeter against Man City.

I personally thought, considering the difference in stature between the two teams, that we did OK and I'm the first to admit to being disappointed that we couldn't break through their defence. We were out fought, and out manoeuvred, sometimes by the opposition feigning fouls, and the ref falling for it, where have I seen that before?

I hope we can learn a few things from the defeat, and move on from here.

The fans were magnificent, and the noise in the away end was a credit to those who attended.

A big thankyou to that fantastic man, Steve, who provided all the free buses for the day, I would imagine the sight of a convoy of so many buses leaving with a Police escort after the game would have been magnificent for any onlookers, he should be given freedom of Blackpool for his gesture and Tread Tracker should be the place of choice for all needing their services.

Thankyou.

Well done for making the trip, yesterday made me proud to be part of the seaside army. Many fans showed up, made noise, not to mention the great gesture from tread tracker coach etc.

As for the game, we simply lost to a better team at a higher level than us. We’re not there… yet.

Hurts way more when you lose to a worse team in League 1!

Onwards and upwards.

Yeah I agree tbh. Wasn't a great watch but I thought the game plan was stay in touch so you can get a late chance (like the penalty). Sadly that second goal took the chance away, but you can't blame us for that approach against a very good side who have taken apart much better sides than us.

Seems the game plan every week ! Even at home …

Joe , your a big fan & hated Brucey … we might have won games but be honest the entertainment has been poor all season so many players don’t know there roles & we can’t defend despite another good defender at the top ( we still have Banks Coaching defenders which is crazy ) apart from“ in my view “ Huddersfield at Home & Cardiff at home ..and I enjoyed Wigan away .. it that’s it

Banks doesn't coach defenders. That's Crainey's job, while Dobbie takes the forwards. Mentioned at the club meet a couple of weeks ago.

Crainey is now coaching the defenders according to Evo.
Oh dear …well that needs to change if correct ,we just don’t get stuck in & all teams at all levels who are successful have their game built on strong defending , when we had Big Sam Ellis or Sam Allydyce they took charge and it was no messing in defence ..

Times have changed from that era. Not saying for the better but if we took the bygone defending approach we'd never finish a game with eleven men.
