I'll celebrate Christmas if I want to. No-one's gonna stop me doing what I want; not wokes, not anyone. It's a mid-winter pagan festival, not a Christian festival. It celebrates the end of the short days and a return of the sun and growth. Besides, my wife always buys me a kilner jar full of tangfastics.

I think its a midwinter festival with a Christian celebration piggybacking on old traditions, which has then become the pinnacle of the worst aspects of material greed and consumerism.

Im celebrating a few days out of the terrible weather and the fact that we are getting more daylight and heading towards spring.

For them maybe, but why did it happen in the first place and this sort of thing isn’t unusual, there have been many other examples of woke self hating lefties.

If this hadn't had gone public would amything have changed?

The fact this happens at all is very worrying, it's basically been accepted to look down on this country and our history for decades now.

We are one of if not the best countries in the world, people try and paint us as bad.

We don't teach enough about all good we've done.

I see the schools has now closed for the summer early due to the threats to staff. As we are all agreed that the young lady should have been allowed to celebrate, I presume we will be united in condemning the threats to staff?

I repeat though, that it is this woke culture that is causing problems. The inability to see things clearly because of the fear of offending. And that leads to poor decisions being made which leads to the furore that it does.

She obviously negotiated directly with The Sun & GB News for her story, the day after it happened.

She then thought.......I can make a few £ out of this....maybe I'll open a go fund me account to compensate me for getting sent home from school.... This money will probably pay for a new car to take her to her new school after somebody decides to burn the old one down during the holidays...

If someone makes a mistake (as the school 100% did) don't you think it's strange that the far right have jumped on it so quick

Can give you half a thumbs up for this, first para spot on, second para, I just don't believe there is any bollocks such as woke culture or woke viruses, just people making dumb decisions for the best of reasons. It's a lazy trope to condemn people some don't agree with, and give them the excuse for threats or worse. You would be the first to condemn people being called RWNJs, yet, to me, it is two sides of the same intolerant coin.

I can sort of understand that. But for me, there's a definite case to be made for people looking to be offended or worrying too much as to what might offend. And of course i recognise that there are boundaries.

Damn right. There are three religions in my family we ALL celebrate Xmas. We all treat Christmas as One of the best times of the year. I celebrate other festivals which are not my (religious beliefs),they are brilliant and the message they all share are great human values.
