"A tall order from Crouch" - New pod out now.

This could be the official fan led review of the fan led review and we could be on the shadow shadow board 👍
As I'm supposed to be TomG., Recidivist, Catinstalbans, brr3, Uncle Tom Cobley and all, can I bags the biggest shadow?

I have completely missed this thread because I thought it was about a Crouch podcast, the jovial, lanky ex Spurs and England striker!! Not a serious debate about a podcast on the EFL/Crouch report!!

I will be outside Burton's window in the stocks for anyone who wants to throw rotten fruit at me for being such a dumb dumb!!! It's going to take me hours to go through this now!!

Me too to coin a phrase. The AVFTT heavy hitters were out in full force and I have only just finished reading through the whole thread.

My own personal view is that the EPL will do what is best for itself and to be honest it has done a massive amount for the the game in England. We have the rise of the mega-clubs like Man City and Chelsea which has led to more competition to Man U and Arsenal. Liverpool have also rejoined the elite and Spurs are trying their best to be viewed as part of the Big 6. There is now the prospect of Newcastle and to a lesser extent West Ham, Everton and Aston Villa all vying to move up the ladder. There has always been this stratification in the English club game and to a large extent it is what makes it so compelling.

Money is a huge factor in this and the global TV audience has just propelled things to another level. The English meg-clubs view the other European mega-clubs e.g. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Paris SG as their true competitors not Burnley, Norwich or Brentford. It is Capitalism gone mad but it could be dangerous to try to "regulate" or "tax" these clubs or they may just decide to take their ball home (again!).
