AFC Blackpool - thank you

Thank you for your generous donations and offer of help during these trying times.
The £950 raised has helped us to install security cameras and replace the damaged doors in the club.
It warms my heart that the local community can rally round and do this. There is nowhere quiet like Blackpool and it's people.
I was a very early poster on this message board. Many of you will know me as I never missed a game home or away for around 2 decades.
I give up time for free, which I haven't really got, to go to AFC to clean, work the bar, admin, kids welfare etc to ensure the club keeps going.
More important than me though was my Dad who was secretary at AFC Blackpool in the early eighties when it was Mechanics. He was very well know in local football circles having served on the Sunday league committee for over 25 years and 20 years with the West Lancs. He was also a "popular" referee.
I'm proud to continue my Dad's legacy. Please raise a glass to Stewart Rowe who would have been 75 tomorrow.
Thanks again. UTMP

Glad Youv got some better security sorted out,the alarm went off at the building next to yours last night at 3.15 am I don’t know if you know what that was about ? I will certainly raise a glass after my tea tonight 👍🏻🍺

l knew you your father very well Kezza through football and he was secretary of Mechs when l was playing there in 84/85, he will be very proud of you continuing his great legacy. Salute Stewart 🍺

Yes Stewart was one of the top administrators in local football for many years, I first came across Stewart when he was secretary of the BFSFA in the seventies, if my memory serves me right he had a newsagents shop at the time. Well done on everyone for raising the funds to help Mechs, they have an excellent young side this season and are in the promotion hunt and are well worth a watch when you get a chance some time.
