All these players we've signed

Do you think at least some of the players have been brought in without much input from Larry and this has been part of the problem?
I can't remember how many are out of contract this summer but add that list to the loan players and it looks like the new manager will have decent opportunity to bring in his own players in the summer

Well the summer will give an opportunity for the new manager to bring his own players in.

I thought given how much Simon Sadler had backed Larry in the transfer window, it didn't indicate he would be potted soon. But results have been dire and there was no sign of any imrprovement on the horizon. Will be interesting to see how the players respond to a new manager.

I've just said as much on Twitter, Insy. Sacking him now suggests that they've been identified by the recruitment team rather than Grayson. Wouldn't make sense to let him sign 12 players in Jan, then pot him in Feb otherwise imo.

I expect they ran these players past him, told him how good they were, and he agreed. I can't think Larry's got his finger on the pulse of young up-and-coming players (unless they come from Blackburn, like Nuttall, of course 😁 ).

The new manager will have to work with the players he's got until the end of the season. But I hope the board go further, and tell him he can't go shunting off the ones he didn't sign, like Larry did. Some of those January signings -- like Teddy Howe, Jordan Thorniley, and Ben Garrity -- have enormous potential.

Good point Grumpy. I'd hope any new manager would only take the position on the understanding that the investment made in players in this window was long term and very much viewed as to be added to, rather than wholesale replaced, at the end of the season. In fact I'd ask a new manager to make a priority of working with that new talent and getting them established ready for next season, if we accept that promotion is definitely off the cards this time.

Oops! I started my celebrations too early! So good we signed him twice! 😁

I meant Ben Garrity. I'm abstaining from posting until the morning. I've done enough damage to your thread for one day. 🤪

This is what shocked me so much about January in that Sadler let Grayson bring in 12 players and off load 11.
Surely Sadler was already thinking about Grayson’s future during January given our terrible run of results?
New manager will want his own players in so it’s a merry go round to come once again in the summer. 🤔

I said on another thread I thought the January window was arguably one of the messiest and most incohesive we've ever had. Just felt it was a conveyor belt of new signings and departures and a pick n mix approach. Didn't seem to be any thought went in to it at all.

I think some thought went into it. It just seemed too many players to assimilate all at once. We were two pints off tpp at the beginning of December, we just needed a bit of strengthening and some organisation and motivational stuff. Positivity and tactical order.

Managers lose jobs all the time, the players will deal with it just fine. Truth is some where either disillusioned or misused by Grayson. If we couldn't figure out what formation and tactics were being employed, you can be sure some of the players were also. Hopefully we get the bounce effect and they all start putting a bigger shift in.
