Allan Campbell Linked

Although he's out of contract and the Scum are reporting a free transfer apparently Motherwell would be owed a development fee of up to 500k.

Peterborough United are tight-lipped over transfer links to Motherwell’s Allan Campbell, as per a report by the Peterborough Telegraph.

Peterborough United have been linked with a move for the midfielder this summer but are refusing to give anything away.
Campbell, who is 22 years old, is out of contract at Motherwell at the end of this month and is due to leave the Scottish Premiership side for a new challenge.

He is believed to be a target for Luton Town and Millwall, as per the Daily Record, whilst newly promoted Blackpool are said to be in the frame, as reported by The Sun on Sunday (16.05.21, pg. 59).

Campbell has been with Motherwell for his whole career to date and rose up through their youth ranks as a youngster.

Another defensive midfielder to add to Stewart, Dougall and Robson, but a highly rater player, if we get him, which I hope we do then I can't see Robson staying.

Some of our fan base are still struggling to shake off the Oyston hangover!
We are trying to build a squad, the manager generally picks two combative midfielders so adding at least one more is going to be vital.
As for the right back situation I would expect us to sign at least two players who can do that job.
Just about to post the same thing, well said.

Highly rated in the SPL for the last 4 seasons, still only 22 and out of contract.
A few Championship clubs are interested apparently although the Blackpool link seems a bit less prominent than it was a couple of weeks ago.
I can't think of a better place to be right now.
I wonder if Graham Alexander, the Motherwell manager has told him about all the good things happening down on the gold coast now.

We should be using the Scottish prem as a happy hunting ground...it has served us well in the past and we can afford the wages of the majority of them

Nothing wrong with being short, David Vaughan was tremendous, also around 5.7

We need 3 players per position and 3 or 4 that can play in a variety of positions

Its creativity we need more than anything, methinks. 👍

I scribbled out a squad list a couple of days ago and I think we need something like:

2 RBs
1 RCB
1 or 2 wide players including Bowler
a couple of forwards
a couple of attacking/creative midfielders. Embo may be one.

Hiya Chunky, polite reminder

Maximum squad number 25

Unlimited under 21's if on the clubs books

loaned players of any age ( including under 21's) count towards squad number of 25
Appreciate that, but 25 is your playing squad and you need more than that in the full squad to cover season long injuries etc. That’s why I say 3 players per position (3rd one can be utility player like Turton was)

What about Ernie Taylor 5' 4"?
A great player for Blackpool.
After Newcastle Utd had given Pool the run-around in the 1951 FA Cup Final Stan Matthews said to Joe Smith (Pool Manager) that he would like Taylor in the team.
On 10th October that year Taylor was bought for £25,000.
He was fantastic. I remember a Green headline after Pool beat them 2-0.

I just about remember watching Ernie at BR. Yes, he was a great player for us. Love the Green headline!

That would be around £800,000 in today's money - rather ambitious spending six years after the war.

He was 5ft 9ins according to his wiki.

Anyway as mentioned above he signed for Luton earlier today for an undisclosed fee.

Really makes you wonder if we we’re seriously in for him if he’s chosen Luton over us. 😳
