An idea but is it possible

Obviously we need proper undersoil heating and drainage no question

will the club make this priority? Or if it hasn’t the money could it pay a certain percentage and fans have a big whip around, fundraise events when things are safe to ?

also from what i can see from over here the club has been exemptionally good to the community, make we could ask the community to help if any can with raising money

maybe a few old players might have a few bits to auction off

I think SS will want a full investigation of the pitch and it's sub structure and will act this summer to put it right. It's bad enough now but imagine if these games had been called off with the supporters already there.

Depending on how severe the problem is though it might take more than one summer break to get right.

If supporters had been there I doubt we'd have had as many weather cancellations. It's hardly a severe winter.

Much easier to not fancy it when there's no one coming through the turnstile.

I would imagine if fans had been in they would have the pitch forks out early and the game would be on

I don’t think SS would ever allow that.

Well, I don't live there anymore, but down here it has been the wettest winter I can ever remember, fields are still full of water, river levels high even though the weather has been good for the last few days. Severe doesn't mean freezing and snow, although we have had that really cold snap on top of lots of rain so the water table is full and it takes time to get to a reasonable level. That and there is clearly and issue with drainage of the pitch that would probably to have caused these problems in a more normal drier winter.

There’s a good chance this is strategic from us:

Push back the home games (higher win percentage) until the end of the season when our players are back from injury and mount a play off push.

Speculation obviously, but you never know.

I can't remember the amount of times over the years that I've seen Blackpool's pitch dug out but the strange this is that pre-the new stands, I can't think of many times I ever saw our pitch badly affected by rain? Bar that Tuesday night game against Norwich which was horrendous, have there really been many games pre-2000 called off because of a flooded pitch or did the builders of the West and South just stick all the rubble under the current pitch!

I doubt very much they can guarantee there will be no further injuries especially given the amount of games we have to play to catch up, any more than they could arrange for the weather to come to our rescue now. If there is a problem with the pitch it will only come to light when we have the kind of weather we’ve had recently. We can’t do much about it until the close season in any case.
Only a few weeks ago we had people complaining that we were playing matches we should have called off due to COVID and that other teams were using it as an excuse to not play us
