And they keep on coming

If you arrive here illegally at the very least you'll be housed and fed until a time of a successful or unsuccessful asylum application.
But if you happen to be homeless British person you'll soon get a criminal record for sleeping in a doorway.

I see my post with the migration watch figures on has gone and another too, yet posts with supposed content worth removing only gets edited... weird.

I know it's illegal, but why don't we set up a system where we have our own power boats which get to he Illegal
boats and drag them back to France before they get the chance to dis-embark?
OK, so it's illegal, but isn't France being illegal by letting these boats come across?
Not forgetting, keep the boats and either sink them or bring them, back to England and sell them.

Thats because this Government have said homelessness is a lifestyle choice.

Firstly it'd be piracy, secondly the French would likely impound the boats and jail the people doing it.

I did however wonder if we could set up an RNLI style rescue service in, say, Belgium (hence no freedom of movement consideration), and then patrol French waters to "rescue" those in small boats before they reach UK waters.

Once again, boatloads of migrants set off from France this morning under the noses of the French police and five drowned including a small child. The boat could easily have been stopped from leaving but France is more concerned about supervising the departure. More deaths due to French intransigence

Time this was put a stop to and they were simply safely returned, under their noses.

Some guy on tv this morning saying we can do exactly that.
UN legislation around being in danger on the seas ( which being in an overcrowded rubber dingy they are) enables us to "rescue" them and return them to where they came from (France).
Surely it can't be that simple......

We can certainly rescue them but we can't take them back to France. France can rescue them but shows no inclination to do so.

when questioned he was adamant we could as that's where they came from.
He also said they come here as we are the most generous country when it comes to helping asylum seekers.

So option B: don't be

It was infuriating to watch the French Police merely observing the boats loading up and then setting sail to England. As a consequence 5 people die. We're paying them multi millions to stop this from happening.
Surely we can demand the EU intervene and put an end to the French abdicating their responsibilities. The illegal AS's enter France illegally, so why are they not detaining, processing and deporting them back to their home countries? Rather than allowing them to live in camps before eventually making their way to England?
I fully support legal migration, but as a small, sovereign island, our politicians have to grow a set and be more robust & aggressive in controlling illegal migration.

Every single death is an international tragedy. There are kids on these dinghies for goodness sake. They aren’t able to make this life risking choice.
The French absolutely need to do more to stop this, but instead it’s become a political tit for tat wrangle over immigration. Shocking really.

Im with you with what you say LaLa, but in reality for clarification in recent times there are rarely children crossing just men, the majority who will be economic migrants or criminals/terrorists.

As you said, any death is a travesty, but they pay thousands knowing its illegal.

One of them today was a child, a 7 year old girl. RIP
Whatever the reasons, it needs to stop.

Probably Richard Tice from Reform, as he claims we can do it under international treaties.

It isn't illegal and if you look at the stats over 90% are given asylum. They come from Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Iran mainly (plus Albania but they aren't very successful at claiming asylum).
If I lived in a war torn environment I'd probably want to seek a better life, unfortunately I'd be branded a criminal or terrorist by the likes of yourself, who forgets the terror campaigns we have inflicted in those regions. Maybe if I was an Afgan who helped western forces I'd risk my life in a small boat.

The heartless say its all young men. Yet today's news says otherwise.

It isn’t sustainable, there must be a billion people that are desperate for a better life.

Europe can’t take them all and if it did then Western culture would be finished.

The US has approved a 90 billion war package for Ukraine, Israel and Thailand.

This is how mad human beings are, still fighting and sadly we always will.

Send the money to those in poverty might be a better option and let them stay in their own countries.
