I’ve always been a big fan of Thomas CromwellPeople you trust too, it’s like the 16th century!
Oliver is a different century and a bit too Taliban for my liking.

I did wonder if Owen was a reincarnation of Henry VIII and Sadler of Cromwell!I’ve always been a big fan of Thomas Cromwell

NopeI suspect Simon Sadler is even more p****d off now that he knows someone is leaking information. A head to roll at the club soon?
I think people have mentioned that summer concerts used to make aprox 1m, whilst it might mean doing the pitch slightly later and missing a home pre season game, maybe that would be worth it and is feasible.Totally agree Herts.
We laugh at the Nobbers but realistically you need that £20 million loss every year just to be a bang average bridesmaid team. Yes every blue moon a Blackpool or a Luton happens but they’re really unusual events as is the winners of the Prem and Cups (normally same old same old)
So just to tread water for 10 years in the Championship, your owner is blowing £200-250 million. That’s billionaire plus territory
It’s also easy to say generate income from none football activities but what does that really mean? You’d have to have one hell of a shirt sponsorship deal to bridge that gap and be running concerts almost weekly.
It’s not like you can make millions selling more mugs, pies and hoodies to the locals is it? If top bars and restaurants find it hard in this modern world to compete what hope has the club got of enticing more spend?
It’s bloody sobering. Players don’t give two. If they can earn £10k a week playing somewhere else they take it even if that club is close to bankruptcy. The Prem isn’t going to give their cash away either as they see an arms race versus Real Madrid and PSG and couldn’t give two how Wycombe are doing.
The fans have to be realistic. Nothing can change unless a Billionaire plus turns up.
If Morecambe can attract American buyers I'm sure we could!I guess this situation may alert people who are looking to buy into English EFL clubs. Even Wycombe has just been bought by a multi billionaire. I've no idea whether Sadler will see the club as a burden that he could do without, or as an anchor in difficult times. Could be either.
Alan Nixon writes in a way the average Sun reader understands doesn’t he ??If Morecambe can attract American buyers I'm sure we could!
EFL club supported by sporting legend set to be saved by mystery US group
MORECAMBE are close to a takeover deal with a mystery US group. The hard-up League Two club hope that reaching an agreement before the end of May will save them. This comes after the Shrimps, loved…www.thesun.co.uk
He does read this board! Why on earth are we talking of American or other rich buyers ,it ain't going to happen .
The guy supports the club,he grew up in Blackpool and is taking nothing from the club
There is no comparison between Sadler and Oyston era I terms of investment, integrity and the day to day running of the club
We missed out on the play offs on the last day of the season - yes there were some boring games but that's hardly down to SS .
Pull your pants up
Glad he doesn't read this board .
Too controlling for me, Thomas C. Mind you, he did work for a sociopath. From that period I took to Thomas Cranmer. He kept his head when Cromwell lost his. He pushed through the Book of Common Prayer during the reign of Edward VI and might have survived Mary, had it not been for the fact that she was the sociopathic daughter of the sociopathic father.I’ve always been a big fan of Thomas Cromwell

It is a strange one, owning your boyhood football club, local lad minted, then moves to Oxford, strange. Why on earth are we talking of American or other rich buyers ,it ain't going to happen .

Not when you have offices in London. it isn't.It is a strange one, owning your boyhood football club, local lad minted, then moves to Oxford, strange.
He’s got offices in Hong kong aswell,Isn’t Blackpool airport in operation?.Not when you have offices in London. it isn't.
I don't think he has to report to Squires Gate for training every day, so living somewhere nice within easy reach of work makes sense. He’s got offices in Hong kong aswell,Isn’t Blackpool airport in operation?.
Yes it is, he chose Critchley.yes there were some boring games but that's hardly down to SS .
Imagine if the poor fecker lived locally. He’d be harassed wherever he went.It is a strange one, owning your boyhood football club, local lad minted, then moves to Oxford, strange.

Isn’t that where the airport is,sticks are for bullies, what ya talking about.I don't think he has to report to Squires Gate for training every day, so living somewhere nice within easy reach of work makes sense.
You sound like someone who is desperate to find a new stick to beat him with.
Makes perfect sense mate, beautiful place to live!It is a strange one, owning your boyhood football club, local lad minted, then moves to Oxford, strange.
But not your choice I believe?!Makes perfect sense mate, beautiful place to live!
Can always count on you mate, eye for detail eh?But not your choice I believe?!
The cheap option was Dobbie, pretty sure Appleton was given a lucrative 4 year deal and Mccarthy would have been performance based on staying in the Championship.Hence why I said he’s done a few good things. The east stand is still ongoing as is the New training ground. The money from bowler Yates and critchley is a big chunk. Over 5 million. Has that been put back into the squad? Yeah he saved us and yeah he’s a local lad but I personally don’t think he’s willing to put in enough money to get to a top championship club like they say they want to be. If he did he would of broke the bank the January we came down and wouldn’t of appointed the Cheap options of Michael Appleton and mick McCarthy.
Yet.but obviously trusts him over the longer term as the only manager he has not sacked.
He was successful the first time he was here and who's to say that success wouldn't have continued. So is anyone who leaves theirYet.
Didn't have chance the first time as the little weasel upped and left
Most people do it properly, not expect the owner to engage with him regarding contracts and recruitment etc , then expect to leave within a few days, leaving the Club and Supporters in disarray. So is anyone who leaves their
employment to better themselves . increase their salary etc , a weasel? The country would be overrun with them.
Well if a job offer with four times the pay came out of the blue, would you politely turn it down? I have more difficulty with him coming back than leaving. He made a choice, we should have moved on. We had a bloke in position who wasn't offered the job but stayed to coach the reserves. Most people do it properly, not expect the owner to engage with him regarding contracts and recruitment etc , then expect to leave within a few days, leaving the Club and Supporters in disarray.
Critchley did that....hence my opinion of him
Its a tough one voy in relation to the money (Im honest enough to say a rise like that is very tempting), BUT, I have standards that I have maintained all my life, and I would like to think I would have done it by the book.Well if a job offer with four times the pay came out of the blue, would you politely turn it down? Fist pumps are just a daft bit of theatre, the north wants them, I don't understand the fuss. Its a tough one voy in relation to the money (Im honest enough to say a rise like that is very tempting), BUT, I have standards that I have maintained all my life, and I would like to think I would have done it by the book.
Besides that, I rarely gave a fist pump to my section or Inspector.
If he came back and played exciting football, I think opinions would be different.
