Another controversial post (for the gentlemen on here )

Yep,30 years together, 25years married. Still very happy, not convinced about the Mrs though 😄

Don't intend on there being a no.1, but happy in a 5 year long relationship. Lots of my friends and age group are similar (mid 30s).

If marriage didn't exist and someone dreamt it up as a new concept today, it wouldn't really take off, would it? Just seems like a lot of aggro for not much upside.

Wife number 1 was a big mistake lasted less than 2 years ( cheating on me)
Wife number 2 meet her in 89 married in 93 still with her love her to bits.
Just in case she reads this.

I left number 1 after 21 years and left that far too late because I believed that marriage was for life(as per my parents) but I eventually decided that misery shouldn`t be for life.

My second wife was much younger than me (23 years) and I was very happy as she had often declared she was but then devastated when she left for someone younger after 11 years.

I`ve never contemplated going through that pain again in the 20 years since.Though now masochistically I think I may regret that.

Married the first [usual reason] 😉 .Split up eight years later but nearly 40 years later still friends. Had two other relationships for four and seven years respectively. Met wife in 1998 [we already sort of knew each other] married in 2004 and here we are today.

Been married to wife number 2 now for over 23 years and couldn't be happier. She's nine years my senior but has never looked it.
Wife number 1 only lasted a couple of years...

You know you can try and buy many second-hand cars before you find a model you're happy with and when you do.......stick with it - she won't let you down!

28 years this July. I remember my wedding day like it was yesterday. Wish it was tomorrow so I could cancel it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. On a serious note, wouldn’t swap her for the 🌍.

Met wife number 1 at school and married too early to be honest. Two handsome sons came from the marriage so not all bad.

Met current wife in Addisons whilst married to first wife. We got together eventually and have never looked back or had regrets.
She makes me laugh every day after 30 years. We’ve been skint a few times and faced adversity on a few occasions but it just made us stronger. She is my best mate.

Quite close to me that 20s. Met wife in 97 and married in 2003. Currently separated....she's in the lounge watching The Admirable Crichton, I'm in my den tapping away on AVFTT.

Yes and yes

37 years this September 👍🏻
I often tell her that I'm the best thing that's ever happened to her😏
Hadn't realised you got married at 20 Wizz, 37 years wed at 57, that's impressive. 👍

I used to go to Addisons with my mates and took Mrs Dave there on our first (blind) date. I used to swim a lot and she was a lifeguard and the lady in reception set us up. That was 93, married in 95. She's the first and final Mrs Dave. And yes I'd do it again.

Was all going swimmingly until a few years back when we had the first AVFTT Christmas party.

And there she was.

I didn't have a look in sadly, but things changed that night.

She knows who she is.

Wine gums last longer than my first marriage.
Anyone who knows me and Mrs SSP will testify that they have a lot of sympathy.....for her.

The question is that all of you who have been with the same partner for decades, have you ever cheated?

I admire you who have stayed loyal.
On the contrary you are either too ugly to score or have one hell of a willpower. Well done!

Why would you cheat when you love someone so much the hurt if either one of would cause for sex ain't worth it.

I don't mind a burger but prefer steak and that's what I've got after 28 years together and 21 married.
Yep it was the Millennium thing where she asked me to marry her!

Feeling miserable? Simply watch your wedding video in reverse and marvel as the Mrs slides out of the church, gets into a car, and f*(ks off...!!!

I'm no doubt one of very few who've married the same person twice.

Managed 5 years first time round and it's our 12th anniversary today.

She couldn't do without me. 😀
