Another season of empty seats then

Why should away fans pay that much?
It makes us one of the dearest away days in the league for Blackpool in the North of England FFS.

Brilliant tell them we've got a training ground and new stand to pay for then what happens if the prices are recipicated for us?

Pay 24 for Nobbers and Blackburn this season stuff em they charged us 32 so they can have some of the same and we'll find a way round it as they did for the 20 last two home games.
Sounds like a plan. 👍
I'm not actually disrespecting what you say because there really isn't an answer to this that will satisfy the fans (home and away) and the Board of BFC.
It's done and dusted so lets just move on.

But those attending one or two games a season are only spending £32/£64 per season. Why should I subsidise them when I'm spending x5 that?
This has been done death now and no amount of good ideas are going to change things.
Lets move on to thinking about all the reasons why are first signing is sh1t.
PS
I do think £32 is £2 too much but if we made it £30 would it really make that much difference?
Actually they are subsidising your ST ticket if anything. Missing the point completely I think.

And surely that's the way it should be.
I spend £350ish instead of £400ish because someone spends £32 instead of £30/£28/£25ish.

I think match tickets are far too expensive. It's a bit frustrating that some ST holders don't seem to give a toss tbh. I'm alright Jack mentality. I spent about 160 on match tickets last season for myself, I also bought a few for my son, and I spent over 300 on TTV games. So more than you perhaps.

It's not right that people are just saying "this is how it is, so shut up and talk about the transfer market now. I'm happy with the ST prices".

You just don't get it do you as many why should Blackpool Football Club be one of the dearest to attend clubs in the league?

Move on no thanks I'm embarrassed with these new prices I live and breathe our town and with my large customer base regularly try and get folk to attend at 32 no bloody chance.👍

It’s all comparative. Remember well when tickets were £10 POTG but footy is now season tickets oriontated so I don’t have a problem paying whatever the price. £399, £450, £522 does it really matter as long as the club put in a structure to pay for it. We are Seasiders and will be there in numbers next year, regardless

I do get it but I also accept that the wise people running the Club have more information about how to run a football club than me particularly in the context of FFP and the depth of the owners pockets.

Some will some won't, I don't know the split. We have a lot of fans who travel in.
Most of my pals print at home even though local it's not worth the petrol/public transport cost for 2 quid.

OK then let's sting the home and away fans with match day prices insane.

Allowing Members and STH to purchase another couple at the discounted rate would be a good compromise, most regular ad hoc supporters
would know a member or STH, putting the extra on away fans and holiday makers taking in a game.

Spot on, now is the time, the place is bouncing and the ground is a bloody great place to be, the good times don't last forever and in the list of crimes committed by the Oystons, losing out on new support during 2009-2012 was one of the worst.
Yep have said this, we're relatively successful for now, considering what we've witnessed in the past, we do need years to consistently build on it to gradually grow the fanbase back, attract people back, gain new support.

But you don't know whats ahead, the rapport between players and manager etc, now is the time to build on the feelgood factor, the atmosphere.

OK we're limited by the stadium, but we can still get more than we've had.

As mentioned before we can hold nearly 11k in th 3 sides plus 738 in hospitality.

Thats just using the se corner as we have done.

People say there's no space but clearly there is when we had a bit over 10k home fans usually.

No one is saying we'll jump massively, its about that gradual growth.

What better way then to go from the 3 sides being mostly full to be full each game and occasional spills into the NE blocks.

If we did grow anymore we could use those ne blocks more often, which are empty most games anyway, most away fans won't bring enough to fill it.

I obviously support the lower price more fans approach, more fans is not only good for the clubs future and will improve the atmosphere further, but that can make a difference on the pitch.

Totally agree

I am a season ticket holder and have been for years (except the boycott years) so this will not affect me and i will be alright Jack!

however, as many on here, i believe match day ticket pricing policy is wrong, from both a moral and community basis but also from a long term business basis

we know we are in the midst of a cost of living crisis, people are already making difficult decisions, the football club seems oblivious to this!

Ironically, season ticket holders are the one most likely to have greater price elasticity and yet in many cases will see a price reduction and others will see a modest increase. The match day price increase seems to hit those who are most unable to afford this, they will simply pick and chose the games they do attend even more sparingly and will no doubt not bring children or friends with them!

we have to look to the future and build the fan base!

You only have to look at the nobber st price, created a buzz, got people delivering leaflets, spreading the word.

Maybe it won't work out much different for them, but it really should do, but just imagine if we had prices where you could say its a bargain, an easy sell to people, impulse buy territory an offer you can't refuse.

We should all be encouraging anyone we can anyway and will but it's easier when it's almost an offer you cant refuse or even just a fair amount for the area.

I'd absolutely love to see something like that here, the feelgood factor from all thats happening plus a great price whether ST or on the day. Watch the bfc community go into overdrive and sell it, as well as the club market it like never before.

A real push to fill the stadium.

I've not read all 6 pages but will say that as someone who can't commit to a season ticket, I'm happy to buy the membership and get the games I can go to cheaper. There's got to be a balance between supporters being able to afford to go, and the owner being able to afford players and new infrastructure.
I'm not sure how many people roll up on the day that don't know somebody else to get the tickets at the discount rate and so don't see us losing out on many new supporters because of this. Season ticket prices are fair and we've got to keep in mind that Championship football isn't cheap. What puts bums on seats is winning games and exciting football, I doubt the £32 on the day price will cause any issues if this is the case.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but one of the main reason for “Empty Seats” this last season, was cheap Season Tickets.

People in the Family Stand, who had taken up offers and then just not bothered to attend, taking up seats that could have been used by other supporters.

So it just goes to show really that if you don’t price a product properly, then people won’t attribute any value to it.

Nonsense

We had a whole stand empty at the majority of matches and very little was done to try and sell it to home fans

It’s not nonsense at all it proves that these so called Blackpool ‘Supporters’ basically can’t be arsed even when it’s free.

They might tip up for a big game, but apart from that they can’t be arsed.

The new system is far better and will hopefully attract fans who are actually interested and committed to attending games, instead of just reserving seats. 👍

Apparently to get the discount rate you need to be a member yourself. Non members will pay £30 and, unless they visit the ticket office in advance, an additional £2 fee. I reckon it WILL result in reduced match ticket sales.

Nothing is free

And I'm not sure why you choose to focus on a handful of empty seats that have already been paid for yet ignore a whole stand that could have been used 🤔

It’s not been a handful though…. Virtually the entire section has been empty and (despite the cheaper price) it’s always one of the last stands to sell out.

It suggests to me that our fans aren’t interested in your brand of Bargain Bucket Football.

This season we can pack in more 18-21 year olds with the great new offer and hopefully full these areas with real people.
