Anybody's kids pestering to go on Sunday

Last time I got this much grief to not go and watch a match was v Arsenal in the FA Cup when my boys wanted to join the demonstration. I was undecided until TAM sent out the final rallying call and I thought sod it; and on reflection, it was a really, really good learning experience for my lads.

My boys (a few years older now) have been on at me since yesterday to go (not helped by the good folk on Twitter and Jerry Yates!) 300 mile round trip to stand outside of the ground for a few hours and my kids are desperate and I'm just an old man thinking, really; can't we just stay at home and watch the game!

What to do!

Didn't want of your lads picture end up in one of the nationals ?

Can't buy memories like that

What is the plan in terms of watching the game though with going down to Bloomfield Road on Sunday?

Considering it but that is what is raising question marks for me

Maybe I’m just an old fart 💨 but there is still a pandemic & after all the criticism on here re demonstrations, whatever the cause. I think it would be hypocritical to think it’s ok now because it’s for our team. If it were done with the relevant precautions them maybe. But I can’t see that happening.

My youngest went on the AP press circular so ended up international and viral (thanks particularly to the fella who sat atop the Arsenal Team bus!!) He would have been 9 at the time and loved every minute of it. My eldest was in a few photographs so didn't miss out. MrsTSS thought was a little less pleased when various images from international news outlets were shared on her Facebook profile!

Meanwhile, you are absolutely right, you can't buy memories like that, or the demonstrations all of which culminated in homecoming; which is up there as one of the best days of our lives.

Still not sure about Sunday, but if the weather is better in Blackpool, it might be worth a trip to the Gold Coast!

Create another memory. Make it an adventure. Pack some lunch and journey treats 🍫 and have a chilled out but memorable day with your lads .
Go on. You know you wanna 😌

I like the idea of meeting up and watching the game in our cars on our phone/tablet etc then socially distancing to applaud the team after the match

Just got in from work and they are still talking about it. It's so good to hear the enthusiasm.

Neil Critchley's Tangerine Army is currently being chanted in the shower 😁

You're right though I want to; let's see.

There's probably an argument now if the government cared its safer to let fans into stadiums, otherwise they will congregate outside with no social distancing. As at this time of the season when it matters people are more likely to flaunt the rules to support thie team in key games.

It'd be safer for the government to allow a reasonable amount of fans inside but with the restrictions of sitting apart. Better to be spaced apart than shoulder to shoulder.

I'd suggest the o/p grows up and stops trying to claim pressure from his children.
There's a pandemic if you hadn't noticed and everyone should stay away, certainly not travel hundreds of miles.

Get to the crucible and tell them... Or even down the prom. You have seen the current infection and death rates ain't ya?
Just do it then, I don't suppose it'll make much difference now with the levels around here, just don't travel via Hyndburn. 😬 You obviously want to. For your son of course 😜
