Don't think it's lazy or sarcastic, just pointing out that in lockdown, it's quite explicit that you can only meet one person outside for the purpose of exercise. Given the laissez faire attitude to the rules that have led us to the state we're in (added to the shambolic way we've implemented the rules), I wouldn't criticise the police for issuing fines, but save that for when they don't.
From the police's perspective it's a quick win, like traffic offences. They're unlikely to be catching murderers and rapists all day every day. Despite the sensationalist headlines, they're pretty unusual crimes for a day to day beat copper to be involved in.
Just read that and so proud of the measures taken to date. It's so lucky for us all that Boris has had such a firm hand on the tiller. It was me being lazy and sarcastic Wiz.
I get all you say but I am really surprised that you took the opportunity to criticise the Government ?
Should you not be commending them as they are ultimately responsible for law enforcement and have therefore played a part in ensuring we punished Spud's lad for committing such a heinous crime ?
Enough of my nonsense Wiz and moving on, I actually want to sign up to your Government bashing club.
I had nothing better to do so thought I'd take a quick look at this roadmap nonsense.
It's a 60 odd page document but you need to wait 'til page 24 before the roadmap starts.
The first 23 pages are basically spin describing the way that the Government has dealt with the virus so far and how their actions have brought so much success or reduced the damage.
They are damned if the do and damned if they don't but I just wanted to read what is going to happen next and I expected to read that before 23 pages of propaganda.

I notice theres another u turn there. Now going to review the idea of a vaccine passport for gigs and large events, something that wasnt on the cards last week.
Fair comment. At least this time round it's before the tipping point has been reached.I am definitely coming round to your way of thinking Wiz but I never like the whole "U Turn" thing because I feel people should be quick to reconsider things when circumstances change and should be willing to amend things appropriately.
In some cases I feel that people should be praised for quickly reacting to change and I'd certainly prefer to see somebody recognise what may have been a previous error than stubbornly plough on for fear of criticism.
Obviously, I'd rather a mistake wasn't made in the first place but in sometimes no mistake was even made and an original decision was just made in different circumstances which may have now changed.
I hope that makes some sort of sense Wiz but apologies for my chunnering.
I do know, as I haven't had it and nobody who lives with me has had it, I feel so not guilty about my rule bending to such an extent that I don't give it any thought whatsoever and I am probably more considerate than a lot of people out there. You don't know that.
If they are ridiculous I do, at least I am not hypocritical or a liar, I'm sure many of the judgemental mob are both of these things. So do you think it`s acceptable to ignore laws if you don`t happen to agree with them ie think that you know best or they are inconvenient for you?

So I'm guessing that all your shopping trips have been absolutely essential and you have never gone out of the house on any given day more than your instructed allowance, well done you are an exemplary citizen but I still think it makes you a bit weird.
I prefer Lewis. Or 'Neville and the Nazi' as I like to call it.Everyone is.
Fair point, I probably shouldn't have added that bit but from my own perspective it would be weird to follow these rules to the last detail.I agree without calling anybody weird.

Laws are passed by MP`s who are elected by us the electorate. If you personally did not vote for the party in govt. does that give you the right to ignore any laws they pass that you personally don`t like?If they are ridiculous I do, at least I am not hypocritical or a liar, I'm sure many of the judgemental mob are both of these things.
Going to the beach and having a walk later in the day now qualifies me as spineless and self centred!Laws are passed by MP`s who are elected by us the electorate. If you personally did not vote for the party in govt. does that give you the right to ignore any laws they pass?
That would of course lead to chaos in the country and completely undermines the democratic system of government.
Incidentally don`t accuse others of being hypocritical or liars, that`s just an excuse for the spineless and self centred, because those who are prepared to stick to the rules do it not because they relish it but because in the long run it is in everyone`s best interests to do so.
Thank you.No doubt you have done your job courageously and well and it wasn`t particularly your walks that I was referring to .It is nothing personal in this but the principal is to me very important.Going to the beach and having a walk later in the day now qualifies me as spineless and self centred!
Ok I can take that we are all entitled to opinions. Seems odd that on other occasions people like myself have been applauded for going to work 6 days a week for the duration of the lockdown with little or no protection from the terrible virus.
Like I said earlier I am being honest, I haven't stuck to every rule so you have my full admiration for locking yourself away in your house for a year.
No problem. A situation like this is very difficult for the government, I would have preferred it if the focus had been put on people flagrantly ignoring their rules with large multiple gatherings of random people in a confined indoor environment.T

2020 just read your last post .It doesn`t even warrant a reply!
The arbitrary nature of the example you give didnt help compliance. Same as covid was far more dangerous after 10.00pm when the curfew was in.Do you ever go over the speed limit 1950s?
Speed kills!
When the rules involved sitting in a restaurant for a good hour with no mask on but then having to wear one to go for a piss then you can’t really respect it can you?
Here comes Covid! Oh hang on he’s just finishing his Filet Steak... wait till he goes the bog and we’ll get him.
I haven't..I think everyone has broken the lockdown in some form or other.
Only from pre covid daysHas anyone got any photo's of FY8 dressed as Mr Motivator on Lytham front doing burpees?
Your going down the “I am great, everyone else is a disgrace” track.....niceI haven`t and I`ve got to say if no-one else had we might not have led the world in loss of life and damage to our economy. It`s sad that we have so many indisciplined, irresponsible, selfish people that show up this country in such a poor light and puts us to shame compared to our previous stoical generations in wartime.
It’s one of the best Codes imho, probably just behind the Green Cross oneNot a fan of Morse...
How the heck do you know that?I haven't caused any deaths by ignoring some of the ridiculous rules that have been imposed on us.
I don't want to explain it again, but the fact I haven't had it nobody in my house has had it and I am talking about the occasional extra visit to a shop and the occasional extra bit of outdoor exercise, I am very confident that I haven't given it to anyone. How the heck do you know that?
Naive attitude at best.
Both better than the da vinci, but not as good as Alberti's Disk. It’s one of the best Codes imho, probably just behind the Green Cross one
They both leave the Da Vinci one well behind. It’s one of the best Codes imho, probably just behind the Green Cross one
Far from it, I am confident the majority have behaved responsibly as they have been asked to do.They have stuck to the rules and well done them. It`s just tragic that so many have died in this country and as the only way this virus spreads is close human contact especially indoors,it doesn`t take a genius to work out that as our country has done worse than most comparable countries, some have let the rest down as has been well illustrated by some stories on the news.Your going down the “I am great, everyone else is a disgrace” track.....nice
I didn’t even know it was you who fell for my gag about me getting the vaccine (I am waiting to be called in order of priority) in your rush to condemn .....but thanks for the laugh anywayFar from it, I am confident the majority have behaved responsibly as they have been asked to do.They have stuck to the rules and well done them. It`s just tragic that so many have died in this country and as the only way this virus spreads is close human contact especially indoors,it doesn`t take a genius to work out that as our country has done worse than most comparable countries, some have let the rest down as has been well illustrated by some stories on the news.
No doubt Blood your post above is on the back of my criticism of you the other day for your lying to enable you to jump the vaccine queue. I am sure the majority in this country would not have contemplated doing that either. You don`t have to be great, just responsible, to follow the rules for everyone`s benefit.
Very funny gag Blood hilarious joke about cheating the vaccine system, even though in neither your original post nor your reply to me on that thread was there any indication that you were joking but very funny anyway ha ha ha.I didn’t even know it was you who fell for my gag about me getting the vaccine (I am waiting to be called in order of priority) in your rush to condemn .....but thanks for the laugh anyway
There are many reason we have a higher death rate than many countries but I can’t be arsed wasting time on here arguing about it because it’s all been done to high heaven.
Yes I’m glad you see the funny side now . We all need a laugh in the face of adversity and I was glad to provide.Very funny gag Blood hilarious joke about cheating the vaccine system, even though in neither your original post nor your reply to me on that thread was there any indication that you were joking but very funny anyway ha ha ha.
There are of course many reasons why our death rate is higher than almost all and just one amongst a number of them is those who flagrantly break the rules which as I said earlier is a small but culpable minority and obviously I am not referring to those working who accidentally may have at times got close to others.. It`s about those who have knowingly arranged or participated in social gatherings clearly outside what is permitted.
I should perhaps mention that over Christmas my granddaughter told my daughter(her mother) that she was going to meet a friend but it turned out to be party at which she caught Covid unknowingly brought it back home and passed it on to my daughter.
Just do it you will only regret it if you don’t!!I don t really know what the rules are I avoid other people as far as is humanly possible and exercise my dog twice daily the only shopping I do is twice weekly at the supermarket adhering to the rules on wearing a mask
in the store. I would like to to leave Yorkshire to visit my friend in Blackpool who is quite ill with a disease unrelated to coronavirus but I don t think I can do that? Unfortunately the law and guidance given by
Boris Johnson is sometimes confusing.
I didn't think in this lockdown there was a limit on the number of times you can go out for exercise - as long as you stay "local"? I have sometimes gone for an evening walk after a run or bike ride the same day so if it is a rule, then I have broken it. Otherwise I think I've been pretty perfectI do know, as I haven't had it and nobody who lives with me has had it, I feel so not guilty about my rule bending to such an extent that I don't give it any thought whatsoever and I am probably more considerate than a lot of people out there.
