I was at that game. It ended 1-1.
Skirton thought he had scored and nearly fooled everyone. There was a hole in the side netting!
Pity we didn’t get away with it like Norwich did in League Cup. An extra point would have promoted Pool that season.

I wasn't at the game btw, it was a decade too early for me. I know I have other earlier programmes too somewhere, with the tower on the front from around the 50's.
Anyway, I can take it to any game or anyone welcome to nip to my home for it... I live at the top of Bloomfield Road/Park Road area.

I've been after our 1953 third round FA Cup match against Sheff Weds if anyone is willing to sell...
Don't mention Programmes.
I had every program for the 1952/3 season in a drawer. Including 1953 FA Cup.
I joined the Army (National Service) in September '53.
When I got home after Service I looked in my drawer.
NO programmes.
I asked my Mum where they were.
She said 'Oh, I didn't think you wanted them so I threw them out'.
Unbelievable.
And she had a Season Ticket for Pool.

I’ve got binders full of them late 60s into 80s I think (they are currently at my mothers) if you have any interest in them
