Having a ceremonial mask bonfire this fine evening, before venturing out to a nightclub?

No me neither!!

The word on the street is that the Clubs in Blackpool are open from Midnight tonight through to 4:00 A.M. Monday is there any truth in it?

The pandemic finishes at midnight, at which point some seem hell bent on going out and breathing in people's faces, because they can.

I always thought Nightclubs were shut Sunday nights in any case... It seems a bit mad to allow them to open early hours Sunday Morning a week after England in the Euro Final as well... Does nobody work Mondays these days?
 
Heard the hospitals are getting busy again. Can’t give any data on who / what / why. They won’t be best pleased 2 weeks from now
 
I’m keeping a pack of masks in my bag and will be selective when I use one. Definitely still on public transport though.
As for clubbing 🤣🤣🤣 I’d rather set fire to my own face ..... with or without a mask on !
 
Pictures (not Blackpool) of young people queing to get in night clubs are being shown on breakfast news.
 
I keep hearing of people who have been double jabbed, getting very ill, some in hospital. Cases are clearly going to rocket in the next few weeks and inevitably hospitalisations and deaths will sadly follow.

Whether the numbers will be acceptable we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s not out of the question that restrictions will have to be reimposed.

You can't give people freedom back for a month and then just remove it. People will ignore them going forward.
 
Makes you wonder, if the Govt banned swimming in manure, would there be manure swimming parties on the great day of the ban being rescinded?
 
We must all be showing our age because I have seen the films of masses of young adults in and queuing to get into a night club. I just don't get it, I don't get the ignorance of youth, it just makes me despair, the ones they interviewed haven't got a brain cell between them.

But Boris has put a spanner in it by saying that from September if you want to get in you have to have had both vaccines and have a covid passport. Very clever, but they should have pre-empted that, not reacted to it after last night. All those going into the clubs are supposed to have proof of a negative test...... can you see that being checked??

My daughter is 25 years old and living in London and she is not going clubbing or to pubs until at least 3 weeks afer she is double vaccinated. It would have a massive impact though on the current programme she is working on if she got infected.

Well it’s obviously an age thing as I doubt many of us would be queuing to going into a club even if Covid had never appeared.

However before we start a “let’s kick the kids” bandwagon rolling it’s worth casting our minds back and first remembering that, at the start of the epidemic, it was recognised that, even if they caught it, youngsters were not really at risk of hospitalisation or death. It was mainly us oldies and it was us the restrictions were designed to protect. So the kids were asked to take one for the team.

So at the start of last year all the posts were along the lines of “selfish brats. Have you seen them all out enjoying themselves. Don’t they know it’s putting us at risk?”

Then after vaccinations and double jabs it was “hurrah I can now go on my holidays!!! Yippee!! What do you mean what about the kids? Why should I suffer on account of them? I’ve booked my two weeks”.

And now we’re starting to get back to “selfish brats. Don’t they know this clubbing is putting us at risk”.

And just to put the wind up you I did read or hear someone say that someone over 65 is still more at risk of dying even after a double jab, than a youngster who hadn’t been vaccinated.

Over 65!!! Cheeky old fecker!!

They may be highly unlikely to die but they are more likely to be hospitalised and it's the knock on effect. If they are pinged then their family, if they live with them have to isolate for 10 days too, that means a huge strain on the workforce again with absentees. Did you see only 18,000 people had a first jab today?The lowest number since vaccines started, because the young who are the ones who are now supposed to be getting vaccinated aren't bothering.

There will be many of us who are a lot older who will be wanting to go to concerts, I have loads coming up and theatre, cinema etc., but if they wanted me to show I have been double jabbed to get in then of course, I think that is the right thing to do.

Where is the logic of having two months of a free for all covid cesspit then insist on double vaccinations and passport from September? Once again, another incredible decision from useless politicians.

It's almost like they want to get herd immunity by any means.

It’s because they should have thought about that prior to today, but haven’t. Plus they were probably expecting the 18 to 35’s to rush out and get vaccinated!

I still haven’t forgiven the lazy little shits for not bothering to go and vote to remain and then moan their lives had been ruined when Brexit won. The media generation… sheesh! 😂🙈

That’s what I can’t get my head round. No one has any idea what things will be like in 10 weeks time or for that matter how the next few weeks will pan out. It’s either another knee jerk reaction to those saying it’s too much too soon or a ploy to improve take up of the jab.
I don’t get the herd immunity thing either when the virus keeps morphing and it certainly doesn’t help the NHS if it becomes overrun.

Regarding getting a boost to numbers getting vaccinated, the super soaraway Sun reported that Long Covid makes your penis shrink. That should get their readers signed up tomorrow.

I've not been in a club in years, if I went in one now I'd look like a) CID or b) a Dad waiting to pick his kid up.

I used to live in them though and if I was in my 20s I'd be straight back.
