Anyone getting excited by corners and free kicks?

I have seen every game so far and I noticed for the first time last night that when we had a corner or free kick (at times in decent positions) my usual sense of expectancy wasn't there. No Gnando is an obvious factor but when I heard on commentary 'even Ekpiteta is in the box' I was more interested in the pasties on the Bake Off 😣

I can't remember when we were last a threat from set pieces, probably when Ollie was here. The thing is it's an easy win to put some time in on the training ground. It can change the course of a game, how many times have we had a good run of play for the opposition to go up the other end and score out of nothing from a set piece. Another critical area that is being missed.

As you ,watched them all, as well as corners, not seen a decent free kick on goal yet , not sure they even practice them , have we got a free kick expert.Having said that shots on goal in open play is a rarity!

I can travel up to Blackpool and give them advice on where to put corners. Every team we play against put in dangerous balls. No idea why we haven't found anyone since. The execution is really terrible and the floating corners we're seeing from Ward and Robson are doing absolutely nothing.

No. I was thinking when I was watching the games at the end of last season, we never do anything from corners set pieces crosses etc. I cant honestly remember the last time we scored from a corner, can anyone ??

Nothing has changed, I have watched every game this season, and seriously in the last three or four games I cant remember a decent cross corner or set piece delivered in to the box.

Last night we had a corner in the second half at 0-0 and within two touches it was back with Maxwell at the other end.

Its so easy for other teams to whip in balls and we get underneath them, or let them bounce or are not alert to the ball being headed back across the box.

Off the top of my head Plymouth, Gillingham Lincoln Crewe and now Charlton all scored simple goals against us from inside the six yard box. Only Ipswich scored a couple of belting goals through no fault of our own.

I didn't once last night find myself on the edge of my seat in anticipation of an attempt on goal, never mind an actual goal.

I'm not normally critical, but this has to improve and improve quick.
