Anyone nervous over the next 5 matches?

All five teams are teams we should be beating and realistically we need 10-12 points from those matches to stay in the hunt for top 6.

However, I'm shitting bricks thinking about that run-in as we never seem to play well against teams below our level.

Maybe it's just the pessimist in me, but I am dreading that upcoming schedule. 😅

I’m far from being Michael Fish and can predict any sudden changes in the elements, but hopefully the good old British weather is finally settling down again.

If there were strong blustery swirling gales or torrential downpours mid match, then those 5 games could prove to be anyone’s game,
However, on a decent pitch I’m full of confidence that we can out-play all five of the teams in this mini run up , and the points we bag will put us right back in the mix.

There is no rain in the forecast presently and in Blackpool it looks as though the overnight temperatures will be reasonable with daytime temperatures picking up, so hopefully, there should be no problems with the pitch.

There are no easy games. Burton are third in the form table. MK Dons are going pretty well. Crewe are a good side, Wimbledon are no mugs and Fleetwood is the Derby, with Grayson out for revenge.

Grayson will do all he can to be the fly in the ointment. But we are a damn good side bring em on

And we are doing everything right, still. 😉

Your positivity has held this place together, sir, when so many others have panicked and leapt out of the trenches in anger and in fright, and sheer attention seekiness!

All we can do is keep plugging away, who knows we might even manage to get out of the middle of the table 🤫
It seems as though every week throws up unexpected results. One good thing is the confidence that the team seems to be showing at the moment, playing a consistent formation is surely helping that.
We've had enforced changes through injuries but have still managed to keep collecting points which speaks volumes about our strength in depth (thank goodness we didn't let Thorniley leave).

Just focus on the next game, slowly, slowly catchee monkey 🐒 😉

Taken points off Posh/Hull/Pompey and Charlton so nothing to fear from those fixtures. The team is on 🔥.

Agreed Tanger - we have some poor displays against teams we have been well above this season but maybe we are looking up this time - in an ideal world we’d expect to win at least 3 of the home matches

Think we just need to continue as we are ,one game at a time ,we shouldnt fear anyone ,just play to our strenghs and hopefully we will at least make the play offs , still get the nerves before each game though

One game at a time, far too many times we look at supposed easier fixtures and come a cropper. Crewe will be a tough game, as will all of those. League 1 is pretty even, we just need to keep working hard and with the confidence flowing through the team hope the good results continue. Given how hectic March is, it really will determine if we are going to be up there come May.

Least nervous I’ve been all season, especially for those specific 5. I just looked at the fixtures this morning and thought ‘crikey if I could pick a run in it wouldn’t look much different from that’. After we beat Fleetwood we’ll move into fifth gear and steam roll our way to the end of the season.

EIEIEIO.

Not really worried in as much that, what will be will be. I can't see us winning all of them and am content to enjoy the rest of the season in anticipation of going up as champions next season having been at many of the games first hand !

That's a good run in there, but we've seen this season we play better against the "better sides" - lets see how much we've improved and matured as a side if we can now go and do the business against 5 teams that may look to shithouse us out of 3 points.

We should be heading into those games with all the confidence in the world though, put 'em to the sword Critch!

If we got 10 to 12 points from those games we might finally see some upward progress in the league table, seems like we just tread water all the time.
I'd even take losing to Grayson and Fleetwood if I knew we would win the other four!

No point in being nervous as what will be will be. Just get on the BFC funbus and enjoy the ride. The team is playing great.

Results recently have shown that as opposed to the start of the season, we now know how to win in different ways. Their is the open attacking play against the top if the league teams and the battle wins against the lower league teams. We are on a very good streak of form so i am confident going into these games. Hopefully by the other side of these 5 we will be in the playoffs. UTMP

Fact is, if we only win three of our games in hand we are in a playoff position.
If we win all of them the automatics beckon.
We are beginning to look and play like a band of brothers, all high energy, high press as promised.
With cover in all positions and CJ, Madine and Gretarsson back in the mix i'm hoping we can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

As Voy said, no games are easy , and we have to earn the right to take the three points from each and every team we come up against. We shouldn’t be taking anyone for granted as we all know, as it usually comes back to bite us on the arse. If we play to our strengths, there is no need to worry about the other teams , just give them the respect they deserve, and hopefully we will get the right result. Nervous ! No, just excited (or Giddy ) about the possibilities which lie ahead. UTMP.

We are the only team to beat the top side in the league so far on their own patch. We've done the double over fourth place, taken four points off third place. If we can't feel confident right now then we never will.

That said, there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and we've lost at Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury so we need to keep our feet on the ground. But I'm not nervous, and I suppose that's partly due to the fact that I never really expected to finish top six this season anyway. Just enjoying the ride right now.

The showdown with Fleetwood looks to me like anything but a fly in the ointment. That is going to be the proverbial nail in Grayson’s career coffin, a physical demonstration of the obsolescence of his non-football. Far from being the promotion king, a first relegation on his CV will spell the end and he will be on the FL show as fast as you can say ‘seagull with alapecia’.
In 5 years’ time some will say ‘remember Fleetwood Town?’. Others will say ‘what’s that?’.

Pool will run into brick wall in all 5 of these games. The opposition read the papers, and we can expect two banks of four lined up ( or more) in every game. We Will be held up from time to time, so don’t expect 15 pts, it won’t happen ! I’ll be happy if we could collect ten or eleven. Not everyone has to play Tues/Sat right through, and it will get harder and harder the further in we get.

Every team at the bottom is scrapping for survival.
Just 2 points separates the bottom 5 clubs and there are 7 teams who are battling it out.
Cods will not go down this season. They will just cross the finishing line.
No game will be easy but just like against Northampton and Rochdale we have the resources to secure a win.

I think the nervousness comes from us still having it in us to play quite poorly (Ipswich). That said, each of those teams knows the run we're on, knows that we've got the equal meanest defence in the league (with Peterborough) and knows that we have quality throughout.
As the old cliche has it, let them worry about us.

Some of those teams will just park the bus against us so we may have a couple of frustrating games. i have the feeling at least one game we will have total command of: high possesion, 20 odd shots on goal but their keeper will earn his whole years salary in one night and the defence will just throw everything at keeping us out. we will probably scrape a 1-0 when it bounces over the goal line off husbands Knee or something similar.

I also get the feeling there might be a couple of those teams really put to the sword a la Wigan.

The Fleetwood game might be a bit feisty as well.
