anyone on here going to the rebellion festival ?

The Stranglers were absolutely awesome. Never seen the Undertones before but the two guitarists were incredible. The Skids were the Skids and Toyah...mmm.

Just back today from Stone Valley Festival, Durham. Stranglers headlined Saturday night which was my highlight of the 3 nights, Peter Hook and the Light were awesome too. Quite a few bands played Rebellion/R Fest and Stone Valley. Good times 😎

Four brilliant days. Stranglers were top for me with Gary Numan but also enjoyed so many bands including Squeeze, PWei, MDM, Dirtbox Disco, Undertones, Altered Images, Tom Robinson, from the Jam, Skids, Jilted John and Toyah …..

Fantastic four days and great venues and atmosphere. 👍

Best four days of the year. I'm ** knackered today though. Spent a fortune, drunk loads, eaten a load of shit and didn't get home until 4am this morning. Well worth it.
Thought I'd give Numan a go on Saturday as we've seen Cocksparrer and The Rezillos who were on in the WG at the same time loads of times. Lasted 40 mins. I can see why it would be mesmeric in an indoor arena but couldn't get into it.

Sound issue was definitely the wind.
Seen loads of bands at both venues. Best for me Ruts DC Defects, The Blockheads, Peter Hook, Squeeze and Knock Off. Enjoyed loads of others as well.
Tickets already bought for next year.

I’ve never seen Gary Numan but found it a bit repetitive and boring to be honest. Even Cars and Are Friends Electric didn’t quite sound right.

I saw him a while ago and was really looking forward to it but he has dropped the electronic sound he originally had and has gone a lot more industrial and guitar based and it doesn't work for me and I thought it was really boring. I have to come up for this next year.

Another fantastic festival & the R Fest looked great when the Tower was lit up. Got to see the Godfathers for the 1st time, missed them the other times they played. They were great. Busy working at the festival so don't get to see loads of bands but saw Sham 69 Friday night, seen them hundreds of times but still brilliant.

Thousands of punks in town today.
Many with foreign accents.
I was added to a Rebellion Facebook group, people came from all over the world, Australia, Mexico, USA, Canada, Japan, all corners of Europe, from Scandinavia to Germany, Italy, Holland, Slovakia etc. That amazed me, but not as much as the offers of help from complete strangers when people's hotels were getting cancelled last minute, or people who were coming on their own and didn't know anyone, it was great to see. It honestly made me proud that we've got something like it in our town.

I loved the theatrical performance of his set and I was not in the least disappointed.
