Anyone willing to accept we’re down ???

The midfield experiment didn't work again, just like last time these three started together. It looks like it should do but somehow we look like the middle is empty - worse than 4-4-2.

He's going to have to stop the 1-2-2 midfield / forward if these players can deliver it. Evans actually started really well and had a decent first half but Brown and Honeyman were just chasing shadows. Seemed to work better against Cardiff when it was a more balanced 2-1-2 with Bowler in that free role.

I'm wondering if it might work so much better as a 4-2-1-3? Bloxham just doesn't seem suited to a central role either.

Honestly I don't know as however we seem to line up the players just aren't delivering. Evatt tries different things even during the game and is passionate, but they're simply not following his instructions. You saw him going mad at the players so many times, for either hoofing it when a pass was on or turning back when a forward ground pass was on.

My only bright note was Fletcher who time and time again picked the ball up and progressed us. If he was the man in the free role and not having to play as a 9 we'd be more effective, but Downes didn't bother to sign one to cover Ennis or a target man.
Bloxham is never a CF in a month of Sundays.

Far better to put Upton in mid instead and get the wide WB's forward with runners from mid also joining in.

Bottom line is we haven't recruited for positions, but for available players with a rep.

Bloxham should be played out wide disappointed with his effort up front but not blaming him. However main problem is how go we get rid of these players too many on decent contracts with good money, just stop paying them and tell them to find a new club would cause a lot of uproar it maybe a huge overhaul of the system for the club to take on but feel it is required. Way too much player power. If a builder starts a job you can see is clearly 💩 do you keep paying him?

The bottom line is that we have bought players with " reputations" sanctioned by Bruce who in all probability never saw them in action . He sold our young players with the theory that experience matters.
So he started the rot with what looks like a bag full of mercenaries.
Honeyman was one of my favourite away players ,an annoying little rat now he,s a clueless fussy cat.
Who headhunted " the smiler" goalkeeper? Worse goalie for several years. And all the others are just plain ordinary.
We need a couple of young " speed merchants" probably 2 midfielders and certainly a goalie who can command his box . My points tally by the end of December is always 27 , more is a bonus as any less and we go down and as we nearly always seem to improve in the 2nd half we should stay up..
Good I've got that off my chest!!

Having slept on it, I feel less confident about us staying up than I did when the third goal went in yesterday. We are on a downward spiral with a core of gutless players.
Players to come back, but nothing we did with them in the side earlier in the season, gives me confidence that we will get better.

Too many negatives on here.
Yes we were awful yesterday however after Cardiff the mood on here was Play offs within reach!

We have positives to look at like returning players, January transfer window and Evatt/Sadler will be determined for us not to go down.
A positive result soon changes the mood and am sure if we would have taken one of them early chances, the outcome would have been different.

Easy in retrospect but during the warm up I watched their little black winger razzing around like Dembele on whizz I doubted we'd keep him quiet for 90 mins & so it proved. Had we'd gone back four & doubled up on him it might have been different rather than him murdering Ikwe one on one. Whilst we have no out & out strikers the 4-2-1-3 would be my preference. Brown & Morgan as the two, Fletcher as the 10 & choose from Bloxham/Banks/Ennis/Bowler as a three. We don't score enough as it stands & the couple of missed decent chances first half yesterday were always going to bite us in the arse.

Not accepting relegation yet at all but things don’t look good, we are pinning all our hopes on January and IE being good enough to sort this, however, I’m also not confident we will stay up. It’s going to be a hard slog and a tough watch!

January is a terrible time to invest large -we might get a couple of loans in.Could be a hard sell -Relegation threatened 3rd division side?
Also how much more do we think Sadler will sink into a team which seems to be going backwards

I still think we need to give Evatt some time ,wait for the injured to return .

If its any consolation (after sleeping on it) I do believe we will stay up 5th or 6th from the bottom.

I don't think we need to be buying players for that reason unless there's someone amazing and young in Div2 or Conference - is there a budget left?

I'd go with the loan market - young Prem lads who are not getting enough decent game time in the first half of the season. You can have 6 I think in the squad?

Imray, Banks, BPF Send Hannson back.

3 or 4 more loans to give real options in the team.

I'm cautiously optimistic about our chances of staying up. I do think we're good enough if properly motivated.
But even with our injured players returning I don't think we'll be anywhere near as good as some on here would have us believe.

In November? Don't talk shyte.

Evo has been here 2 minutes and already the usual suspects are questioning his tactics and thinking. Get a ** life and show some patience.

Yesterday we met an inform team and we are threadbare. I'm keeping the faith, so should others.

Reading had more players out injured than us? What rhubarb you talking here you

That's not BLOXHAMS fault. We certainly need ENNIS back and SADLER to support EVERT's request for players he needs not the adv ice of some crony!!!!!

Agree. Not Bloxhams fault at all. He is simply playing where asked to. Credit to him.

Evo needs to be assertive with SS whilst he is new in.

The January window is the time when safe and successful clubs traditionally fleece the desperate ones for players that are not wanted, past their best or out of form.
I'll be surprised if SS puts up with that and splashes more cash, unless the books can be balanced by offloading one or two. Maybe a couple of loans will come in but I really can't see much more happening.
If anyone is going to be assertive I think it's more likely to be the owner saying to Evatt "You keep telling everyone what has to be done. Go and make it happen".

The way I look at it and try and see SS looking at it the same. He's invested, in some cases badly, in the summer with the hope of a top end finish and maybe promotion meaning the investment last summer is covered.

He's now got a new manager in who has had barely any time to whittle his name of the office door, so he's not going to want him to lose him (contract compo and face), so if IE starts to get a bit on consistency in the team I can see SS adding to last summers investment as he may as well wee £3m up the wall as £2m, but only if the signs are good and the chances better.

I get the feeling Casey will go and help pay for January.

On loans. January is both a good time and bad time for those. Bad because a lot of players are on SLL's elsewhere, good because it opens up other players who may have wanted to wait and see if they could break through to the squad in January before taking a loan. Work for this should be happening now.

Whatever, IE should be banging down SS's door and pushing whilst he's still new to get the players in HE wants not those from Downes' filofax.

Which is why he need a DoF (not Sporting, I mean what other sports do BFC play- The B in BFC stands for Blackpool and not Barcelona). He would oversee the scouting and the network to get access to available players.

I don't believe we will go down but even if we do I believe we must stick with Evatt. We genuinely need a period of stability and I'm hopeful he is the man to better us over an extended period. I am sure Mr Sadler will back him.

Been saying it for a while and getting dog's abuse

However, after that first half tonight, it may be that the tide's turning
Evo's influence helping turn them into a cohesive, brave, creative unit.......feels like we're "bouncing back".......

Sorry, home alone tonight; on the Efes and raki, listening to Made in Japan.
It's helping, I assure you.

Any one willing to accept we're down ???

'Down'? 'Down'!?!? I can't stop trying to get through to the Samaritans, that's how down I'm feeling...

Does that answer your question?
