I’m guessing it’s an interview because he’s applied… I very much doubt he’s a serious contender.
 
I can just see it...appointed June leaves mid July in a huff because Simon Sadler won't endorse his request for undersoil heating at Squires Gate.....no thanks.
 
I don't get the negativity towards Appleton, I think he was very principled when he was here briefly. It didn't take long for him to see what the Stains really were and he did exactly the right thing by leaving instead of just taking a wage and putting up with it and I think that was a great thing to do.

He is highly regarded as a manager and coach and I am probably the only person who wouldn't be unhappy if he got the job. Maybe a team of Rosenior with Appleton at his side would work? Appleton would certainly be better than Duff.
 
My first choice from the small list that seem to have been. interviewed is Evo, followed by Rosenior the Appleton and finally Duff.

Leaves us to Blackburn gets sacked after 15 games goes to Oxford gains promotion to Lge 1(his only success) moves to Leicester as a number two then after manger gets sacked goes.
Takes over Lincoln after they where already promoted to Lge 1 and loses a play off final against us and has a shite season last year.

Jeez there must be better candidates available if ever there was an overrated manager Appleton is your man.
 
Good record of attracting premier league loan players so trusted to look after them by prem clubs.
 
If Mansford used to be his agent and he's applied, they will probably give him an interview out of courtesy. Might not be anything more to it than that.
