Apter sub again

Look how many players signed for us because of Bruce (according to the interviews). The reality is they sign for who’s offering the most money.

No idea what’s happening with Apter because he started the season well for Charlton. Perhaps an attitude issue that Jones isn’t impressed with? Either way, I hope he succeeds and it’s in our interests if he does because we no doubt have a final interest in his future.
 
Surprising he got player of the month recently. They have a lad on loan from Southampton who’s keeping him out.
 
Reckon Sonny Carey could be next player of the month. Scoring goals , nearly all screamers and getting a fair bit of work done about the pitch too

He also gave the ball away leading to a goal conceded in a recent match. Let's not forget though, there are some very good players on the bench in the Championship purely because of how strong the squads have to be.
 
Charlton signed Bree on loan from Southampton. He's fitting the wing back role better than Rob - let's be honest the defensive element to Rob's game is a weakness - so he cant get in the team as apparently Bree is playing really well.
I understand two league one sides (not us) have made tentative enquiries regarding a possible loan deal in January for Rob
 
How long until we get posts on here from people saying we should look at resigning him? I’m going to say it’ll come mid-January during the transfer window after he’s continued to sit on the bench…

Why do Blackpool fans have this peculiar obsession with wingers having a "defensive game" and not giving a phuck about how good someone is going forward?
 
Think when you've moved that far from home and find yourself sat on the sidelines, the reality of being a football hits.
He should have bided his time and waited for a decent offer from around here.
I reckon Blackburn or even the Nobbers would have come in before long.
Have worked away in a job I didn't enjoy in the past and it's soulless.

But you don’t know if that’s the case. The lad maybe loving life in the capital, getting his head down training hard and biding his time to get his opportunity.

Some of our fans are just weird. Young lad, came through our youth, he was loyal because he signed a contract extension and sold to a higher league for a healthy profit. We should be wishing the lad the best of luck in the world.

Expect he’s in the queue behind Kelman, Campbell & Olaofe.
But he started the season well. On a par with Carey. Then disappeared without a trace.
Still wish him alll the best. It’s nice to see a lad make it through our academy where so many have struggled to make an impact.

I think this is said more as he was playing wing back not as an out and out winger. You have to have a defencive side to your game in that position which is why Rob may have been dropped.

It's a theme, I'm not on about Charlton or wing backs.

I'm on about in general, when people defend CJ it's because he "tracks" back. And can outpace attackers to get the ball. They moan about Bowlers defensive game. Owen Dale got it too.

Bree has been at wing back scored 2 in10 and more assists than apter

It seemed no sooner had he established himself here he was desperate to go. Now I’m sure he had his reasons for this and I’m all for players looking to challenge themselves but he just seemed to want to go to the first championship team that showed interest.
Had he not forced the move through he may not have got it but it would have come eventually and he possible would have been better prepared and more experienced.

That being said I would take him on loan if available in January.
 
Yet few people complain about Carey who turned down a good contract offer. All players are the same. They have a short career and will go wherever a better financial offer is available. If it is in a higher league then all the better, as they all want to prove themselves at the highest level possible.

I always liked and backed Carey. Like Patino, he was ruined by Appleton and Dino Mick and it took him a while to get over it, which isn’t unexpected for a young player.
 
I see he finally started a game today but probably wished he hadn’t thumped 1-5 at home by Southampton and he was subbed after just 24 minutes. 😲

He wasnt injured according to Charlton fans, his side was a major weakness. They were getting past him constantly and 2 of the goals came directly from his side. The kick in the balls is that Jones changed formation after he went off and played with out and out wingers not wing backs.
 
My Charlton coworker said that Apter was subbed because he was lazy and wasnt tracking back at all. Said that the lad showed zero effort and looked disinterested. Wasnt tracking back, slow to join in attacks and at one point just stood on the half way line and watched southampton score. He said that there were others on the pitch that were just as bad as him, but that they at least were trying which is more than can be said for Apter. I was shocked by that, I never saw Apter as lazy in any way for us. There must be alot going on behind the scenes for him to be like that.

Ive seen similar things said on Twitter. Also quite a few saying that he needs to be loaned out and some even saying they would rather sell him and recoup money for him. Its all gone tit's up right now for him.

Fair enough.
I know we used him there but he was far more effective for us further up the pitch.
